Hi Mary,

I do not know what your dosage is but I have just stopped using the Gonal-f pen and I bought a pens containing 900 Gonal-f,  when I am about to use the pen for the first time I turn the dial to 37.5 I put a needle on the top pull out the bottom of the pen until it will no longer pull any further then flick the top of the pen with my fingers gently to ensure there are no airbubbles then I push the end of the pen in again this should release a squirt of liquid out of the needle if it does not pull the end out again (still set on 37.5) and repeat.

Once this is done then turn your dial to the required amount you have been told to inject and pull out the end of the pen till it clicks and inject.

YOU ONLY NEED TO PRIM A NEEDLE IF YOU ARE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.  DO NOT PRIM THE NEEDLE IF YOU STILL HAVE GONAL-F SOLUTION LEFT FOR FURTHER INJECTIONS WITH THIS NEEDLE  (EG IF YOU HAVE A PEN 900 GONAL-F AND YOU INJECT 300 A TIME YOU WOULD PRIM NEEDLE BEFORE FIRST INJECTION, BUT WOULD NOT NEED TO PRIM AGAIN THE NEXT 2 TIMES UNTIL A NEW PEN IS USED).

GOOD LUCK MARY I HOPE YOU HAVE A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME.

Just make sure you clean it with an alcohol wipe and use a new needle everytime. You will need to twist it to your dosage every time. I'm not sure what you mean by prim but I hope I answered your question. What cycle are you on? SSBD to you.

You are supposed to clean it with the wipe and then place the needle each time... I think that is what you mean by prim - it has been a while since I used the pen and I have baby brain right now...
