How many of you that are having boys are planning on circumcision?

The reason I ask is because I never had circumcision done on my son when he was born. My doc back then over 20 years ago said it was perfectly fine if I kept it clean.  Well I have been told by parents and friends that I should of had it done, but back then I was pretty young and didn't really know the big difference. I've tried to talk to my son about this and he just isn't into that kind of talk....lol   Far as I know my son hasn't had any problems not being circumcised. I do plan on having this baby circumcised just a little nervous on the after care.

my dh isn't done (from peru) and it is no problem I know in book they show these weird looking things but his really doesn't look any different...  not like tons of excess skin or anything...  anyway I don't think the risk of infection is too great for not having it done since most countries don't have it done...

It seems like a tough choice on deciding.....like I said I didn't have it done the first time around and if my little one were to ever decided to go into the military I would not want him to get some type of infection. I know some of those guys out there go weeks with no shower and only wipes to clean off.

I had a girlfriend years ago that had her son done and it looked so awful and red. Back then I was thankful I didn't do it. I have much more knowledge of things now. I will definately have it done.

I am not sure what I am going to have. But my two boys got it done. After care is not hard. It's almost like the cord. You clean it just about the same way. Some Dr.'s will put a little ring and it will fall off on its own just like the cord. The nurse will show you how to care for it. You just need to ask. i hear it's painful once they get older.

I talk to my son about it and he isnt to crazy about the idea. He is now a man and I hope that he doesn't have problems later on and if he does he will have to handle it on his own. I just wish I would have done it. Its kinda funny I woke up this morning just thinking about circumcision. I wonder if my dreams had anything to do with this???

I don't think you have to.  More and more boys aren't and in most other countries they don't...  I do know that after it is done it looks like it hurts bad... it is so red and really looks like there is just one layer of skin between the blood and the outside world haha...  when I thought I was having a boy I was leaning to not having it done but I hadn't decided completely...
