Looking for hope after 3 failed pregnancies

Hey girls,
I am at my the end of my reserve of hope.Today at 7 weeks I was told my pregnancy is a blighted ovum. After 8 months of trying I have an ectopic pegnancy where my right tube was removed, a early chemical miscarriage in January and this one. I am desperate to understand why this is happening. I can but wonder if my age (i turn 37 in a fortnight) is the reason. I just want to hear some reassuring stories now as I am ready to forget this heartbreaking cycle of torture and step off the ride.
Thanks
minimin

I too have a success story.  After 5 failed pregnancies, I now have a 10 week old beautiful baby boy (delivered just before my 41st birthday).  Like Prevatt, I tried Clomid, unfortunately it didnt work for me, so if it doesn't do the trick for you, don't give up. I just couldn't conceive on it.  It's true that as we get a bit older, our eggs also age and it can be tougher to carry a baby to full term.  I will never know if that is what happened to me, however I did get a good one eventually.  I had all kinds of testing, and no reason was ever really found.  I know how painful it is to go through this but I can tell you that for me, I would go through it again to have this beautiful little guy.  He truly was worth it.  Hang in there and I wish you well.

Hey thanks for your story :)
My research has also come up with Clomid- does this help egg quality? I am wondering if My GP will put me on this as my EP isnt counted as a MC. Called my EPU this morning as the emotional turmoil of this mess is too much. I am not bleeding properly and just starting to get some clots and red blood- Five days later. I cant have this go on and asked to go in tomorrow- They are going to rescan me tomorrow and I will ask them to remove as much of the pregnancy as they can :(

Congrats Prevatt on your pregnancy- how much clomid did you take and on which days?

(((hugs))))

So sorry to hear about your loss.  I guess I can say I'm probably one of the success stories you might want to hear.  I has 5 miscarriages within 2 years.  Every loss was very hard, but I was determined that I was NOT going to give up on my dream.  After my 5th loss I went to see an RE, he had did a total work-up on me and my hubby and everything was okay.  He told me that I was just having bad luck, that I wasn't getting a mature egg.  He told me not to give up that this would happen for me.  I truly believed that in my heart and as bad as every lost hurt, I continued to move forward.  My RE put me on Clomid the next month and I conceived.  I now have a very active 15 month old healthy little boy.  I was 41 at delivery with him.

I have told several woman on here, not to give up and to continue to follow your dream, this will happen for you as well.  Stay positived and have your faith and believe.

Good Luck to you.
Huggs

Hi Minimin

So sorry to hear.  That must be just terrible.  I can't even imagine and hope I never have to go through that.  But, Don't give up hope!  They always say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and I truly believe that.  For whatever reAson this pregnancy was not meant to be but perhaps made you stronger and ready for the next one when you are ready to try again.

I wish you all the strength to get through this and bounce back stronger!

I'm so sorry for your loses. I can't even imagine how hard it is. I don't really know what to say except that there are plenty of success stories on this and the over 40 site that would say it can happen for you. Everybody is different but there are lots of 37-40 yr old women who have successful pregnancies. Good luck to you, I wish I could help more.
