Update

Hello girls.  Have not been around much, spending so much times at DR's and in L&D.

First, we found out that Noahs pleural effusion was NOT caused by a virus. so its either from his lymphatoic system being wacky or "just happens". Meeting with the Beth Israel team and Boston Children Hospital next week to find out birthing plan.

On another note, I have been having terrible BH. Going every 4/5 days to hospital to get IV fluid and a shot of tremaline (sp?).  Last weekend they were coming hard every 2 minutes and HARD.  No pain, just uncomfortable. The shot stops them immediately.  No matter how much water/gatorade I drink, nothing helped.  Was told it just "happens to some people".  My cervix is fine, Noah is fine...it's just my damn uterus is not cooperating. I am instructed to go to L&D if more than 7 BH an hour.

He is measuting 1.5 weeks ahead (except his short legs which he gets form both of us...LOL)...so am betweem 29-30 weeks at this point. His femurs measures  27-28 weeks. Perhaps he will catch up there in height.

This is going to be a long few months!

Good luck!  I was waiting to get some update from you.  We have such great Dr's here is Mass and I agree BIDMC is wonderful @ 23 weeks (on ND  @2 am) I had BH  about 4 contractsion per /hr and was taken by ambulance to BIDMC they took a cervical swab abd ran some test where they can tell if I will deliver in 2 weeks.  The test came back negative and i was sent home.  It is so reassuring to know that BIDMC is connected to Childrens hospital and the Dr's are the best.  Hopefully we will both make it to week of Apr 25th and be in BIDMC @ the same time.  unfortunately because of my history my hi risk ob thinks I may go a couple of days early.  Good luck!

No steriods for lung developement...his lungs are perfect and very well developed already!  BUT...have appts with all the specialists this week in boston so do not know what their plan will be. The nurses there have already called to introduce themselves...I feel so good about everyone involved!

They have not put me on bedrest but we have had a big NO NO for any "lovin'" ...poor boyfriend....i think his "you know whats" are not just blue but black!

Will keep all posted, but thought it was important to share all this as sometimes DR's and news can scare the crap out of us and sound dreadful, but things normally do work out just fine.

I have been watching for your updates, and am so glad to hear things are going fairly well.  You deserve some "smooth sailing" for a while.  It also sounds like you are getting excellent medical care, which is so important with any hiccup.  Take care Court and know I am always thinking of you and little Noah.  I just know in my heart things are going to go well for you both.

Thanks for updating. You are doing really well, seeing all the right people and sound like you're on top of things. He is a little monkey to put you through all this but that's what they are there for. You never stop worrying about your children. Take care of yourself mentally too. Have a treat every day, whether it is a magazine or a massage or a smoothie or whatever works for you. Be kind to yourself.
