Thanks Ladies!!
Sorry I haven't been back on but Brayden has had jaundice so we have had to taken him to have tests done every other day and it's wiped us out. He is getting better and I couldn't be happier, I feel so bad when they have to poke his little heal and squeeze blood out! He is such a blessing in disguise! I never thought I would be so wrapped around a little babies fingers again but I am!
A little about our birth story.. I got to the hospital at 6:45am but they were just starting a c-section with a mom pregnant with twins. So we had to wait a little while. Around 9:10 they came in and started the pitocin and it didn't kick in right away so we basically just hung out all day. Then around 5 they broke my water and still nothing for hours. Not even any sort of pain. The doctors kept saying.. so much for your history of fast labors huh. Then at one point my doctor came in and said ahh come on Patty, did you forget how to have a baby.. ahaha.. I told him it wasn't me... Brayden was just getting them back for stopping him from coming so many times. hehehe They gave me an epidural around 5 to help me relax to dilate.. Then around 7 I was fully dilated but no contractions what so ever so they never told me they would just wait to see if I was going to contract. Then they noticed he was positioned the wrong way. He was sunny side up so they didn't want me pushing then. They had me roll on my left side and lay there for a while and then on my right. When I was on my right side Brayden's heartrate would go down and it was putting not only him into distress but me too!! I was so worried!! I begged them to do a c-section on me to get him out so I would know he was healthy! They feared that that would be worse on him so they tried a couple more things and was even flooding the pitocin in me to hurry up my contractions.. Oh gosh ladies.. nothing at all was happening and I thought I was going to be pregnant forever! About 9:45 they came in and said ok doctor wants you to start pushing anyways... we are having this baby tonight. They checked the way he was laying again and I was afterall contracting but didn't feel anything (which also wasn't showing up on the monitors) so when they checked me and they felt me contracting then told me to push..I pushed and pushed.. 3 times a contraction and after 3 contractions at 9:56 pm he was born!! It was absolutely amazing!! He just laid there afterwards and looked around and breastfed and looked around.. for 3 HOURS!! They said they never saw such an alert baby who never cried! He is an angel ladies!! I absolutely fell in love all over again the moment I saw him! That night we didn't get any sleep because they won't leave you alone in the hospital so my doctor said we could go home after 24 hours and it didn't matter that it was 10pm! So we left the next night at exactly 10 pm!
I came home with high blood pressure again and swollen to the gills with water but other then that I feel absolutely wonderful, can't tell I have just given birth a few short days ago (if you didn't look at all the poofyness!!!. Brayden is such a good baby, he sleeps for hours at night, it's so cute... he stays awake for about an hour after he eats and gets his diaper changed and just lays there looking all over.
Thanks for the wishes on Mother's Day... Happy belated Mothers day to all of you ladies also!!!!
Love,
Patty and Brayden!!
