Lost control of bladder

So today I am 38 weeks. Last night when my husband and I laid down in bed I got this gush of liquid that came out of my vagina I immediately jumped up and came to the restroom. We decided that we would wait and see if contractions got stronger and closer together before we go to the hospital since I have a dr appointment at 9:45 this am. Well I go get back in bed again and not 20 minutes later it happens again. I get up change my panties but this time instead of a pantie liner I get one of the overnight pads we bought for postpartum care. And lay back down. All night I have been up and down up and down because I feel like I'm peeing on myself but contractions have not gotten stronger or closer together. I can not handle this for 2 more weeks. I need this baby to come out. I am a FTM and all I want to do is cry because I should be able to control my bladder at 23!! My husband said that it is ok I have a baby compressing my bladder but it just bugs the crap out of me that I'm peeing on myself!!

Not all contractions get stronger once your water breaks. My friend had her water break and not get contractions until 2 days later. She was on constant observation from her midwife and everything was fine. But if you tested positive for group B strep, you need to go in right away so they can get IV antibiotics into you.

Im surprised your doctor hasnt already talked with you about reasons to go to hospital or call after hours. It does sound like your water broke. Without contractions, that is called early rupture of membranes. That is reason enough to go get checked out. Since your risk of infection and potential risk to baby increases after water breaks, doctors usually want you to note the time and head to the hospital so they can get baby out within 24 hours.

If it happens when you lay down, odds are you are leaking amniotic fluid. Probably not peeing. The baby's head will block your cervix when you stand up, usually. And then once you lay down and baby moves, another gush. Call your doctor this morning, even without contractions. They will check and tell you what's going on. Good luck.
