Massage while Pregnant

I just found out yesterday that i am pregnant after several IVF cycles. My Hcg level was 132. I guess thats good from what they tell me. Anyway, is it OK to get massages and pedicures when pregnant. I know, probably a silly question, but just want to be sure.

Be very careful about the inside of your feet around the ankle area and the palm of your hands around your big finger ~ avoid massage in these areas ~ my massues told me about these areas to avoid even while getting a pedicure ~ she said it can actually cause a miscarriage ~ enjoy yourself ~ relax ~ enjoy..!!!

I had pedicures every 2 weeks and 1 prenatal massage. Pamper yourself but yes, make everyone aware you are pregnant.

I go to and went to a massage therapist before I ever got pregnant and the whole time I was pregnant, BUT you HAVE to make sure they are trained to work with pregnant women. Along with what battylady said, there are pressure points on your body that can cause you to have contractions. They must be trained to know which areas to avoid! I think it's great and it's so worth it but just be careful and enjoy!!

I heard that you have to be careful with aromatherapy oils. You're better mentioning to the beauty therapist to be on the safe side so they can use alternative oils. Enjoy your pampering :)
