Miscarriage/Ectopic Pregnancy

How early on in a pregnancy can you experience symptoms of a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy?  Is it possible at 2 or 3 weeks, even before it is confirmed that you are pregnant?

Hello...like adgal says.you can have miscarriage systoms as early as the week you miss your period and all the way up to 20 weeks.  After 20 weeks they call it something else.   But you can suffer pregnancy loss really at any time during your pregnancy.   As far as ectopic....you will know for  sure by 7 or 8 weeks if it's ectopic if not previously dianosed by ultrasound.  That's the point you need to get to the ER as the tube might rupture.

Thanks!  That helps.  I am not sure if I am pregnant but got what I thought was my period really late with lots of symptoms that I don't normally have so I am wondering and worrying a bit.

I am not entirely sure, but I think you can.  With a miscarriage that early, it would actually be a chemical pregnancy...I have had 2 of them and didn't really have any symptoms, just a really heavy period.  I wouldn't have even known I was pregnant except I took an early pregnancy test, and my blood work confirmed a very low level of HCG.  As for etopic, I honestly don't know.  I do think if you have any concerns about a possible etopic, you should consult your Dr. asap.  You don't want to mess around with those.  I hope neither of these scenario's is the case with you, and I wish you well.
