Icky Superfluous Nipple Question

Okay, I know this one is a really bizarre and probably somewhat hysterical question, but I thought maybe if someone had a similar experience I wouldn't feel so silly!  If you can't laugh at yourself...

Let me just start by saying I have a lovely, and really annoying third nipple.  Always have, and usually it's relatively dormant and not noticeable, until I get pregnant.  Then it perks up, gets large and turns dark like the other nipples, and... *sigh*  lactates.  I really do hate the thing and probably should just get it removed, but here I am 24 weeks pregnant and the sucker is proudly hanging out with the other two baby food factories waiting for its chance to participate in the miracle of birth.

Here comes the odd part...

I know that developing skin tags or darkening of moles is pretty normal during pregnancy, but during my last pregnancy, I got a mole that developed very rapidly over the period of maybe a month, and though it's very small, I SWEAR it is another nipple. It is very raised, the color of a normal (non pregnant) nipple, and just... LOOKS like a tiny little nipple. My doctor laughed at me sand said it was not, because it wasn't in the milk line, so I just ignored it and it remains there to this day.

So two weeks ago I noticed a red mark under my armpit, but I didn't think much of it.  Guess what?  Two weeks later, and today I checked and it is raised and looks like a tiny nipple!!!  I think this one is leaking a little too!  I don't know if the armpit is actually in the milk line, and I don't think it is, but I have heard of women having lactating extra nipples in their armpits.

What the heck?!  Can you spontaneously grow nipples during pregnancy because of hormones?  I'm starting to feel like a Golden Retriever about to give birth to a litter! LOL!

Anyone else experience anything even remotely like this, or am I the only genetic throwback in the bunch?

Sheri,  I noticed since I got pregnant (6 months now) I had a mole that became dark and raised. I was worried it might be cancerous...but  I asked my doctor about it and he looked at it and said "it's actually probably a nipple" I thought he was joking!!  I have read about extra nipples in the armpits, so I wouldn't say it's too abnormal if you do have one there.  Crazy hormones.

under the armpit must be common. I knew this one lady she had a couple on her neck. YIKES..all could see, now those I would have had them removed asap.

Hehe... it is sort of funny, and really bizarre.  This mole or whatever it is isn't really hanging.  It's not quite as big as an eraser but it looks sort of like an eraser.  I have noticed today that there seems to be a gland or something under it that is swollen and hurts, so that's probably not good. Maybe it's a nip with a swollen milk duct, though I have no idea why I'd have a milk duct in my armpit.

Not to be wierd, but there is a hilarious site I ran across once by a girl who was pregnant who had this problem, and she made so much light of it she got invited to be on a TV show about extra nipples!

with my first dd, I got a hanging mole..in the armpit, it was the same color as my skin.. but anyway, I cut it off myself while I was still pregnant...(yea I know....) but it was driving me crazy.. when I would shave etc..
do you know my dd got it in the same place? wait till you give birth befor you get anything cut on. I know crazy but I wouldnt risk it for the childs sake. Now she has to deal with it while shaving. gulp

I hate to make a joke with it, but for those that know me??.......sometimes I cant help myself...giggle giggle
are you planning on breastfeeding? wow.. I hope they dont leak....I only have two and I feel like a darn leaking faucet already.
serious... I wouldnt think its a nipple. with you being so far into your prego.. 24w, can you squeeze it and get some colestrum..sorry to hear your having to go thur that.. crazy hormoans man!!! gets the best of us.

WoW!  I have never heard of that before but I would go to the doc just to make sure it is an "ok" mole or as you call it a nipple!  good luck!
