Ovulation symptom question...

This was strange for me, so wondering if anyone else has had this happen.  Yesterday was CD9.  I usually get a positive LH surge around CD 11 or 12 (except those months I was on clomid).  Yesterday CM was that egg white stretchy consistancy, usually a sign you are going to O right?  When I saw that I took an OPK test and it was most definately negative.  We BD'd anyway as I am not taking any chances, but I just found that odd...I always thought your cm got like that right around O day.  I will take another OPK today, but wondering if anyone else had this happen.  I am wondering if my cycle could be changing that much?  AF has been earlier then normal the last few cycles, but only by a few days. Oh, and I should mention, cm was not the same consitancy today, was more sort of watery (Good Lord, the things I tell you ladies...lol).  As always, I appreciate any input or thoughts.  Amanda

I tried OPK today again and was negative.  I am almost positive I o'd yesterday...CD10.  Early, but seeings how lately cycle has only been about 25 days, I guess it's actually normal?  Bding my little heart out, so we shall see I guess.

Nina...for 2 to 3 cycles after my loss', my cycle was all over the map.  I would get LH surge anywhere from CD11 to 15.  It's good they are going to check, but sometimes our hormones stay our of whack for a bit.  You will probably find things go back to normal shortly, although your cycle may stay shorter for a bit.

I was reading up online about all of this stuff last night.  Nothing is overly abnormal.  It is not that important as to when you O, more that your luteal phase is more then 10 days, perfect world about 12-14.  I think it just freaks me out when things start to change with my cycle...I start to worry about perimenopause....

OMG ! I am going through the same thing. I was just getting ready to post a similar question. I'm on CD16 and since my miscarriage in DEC. My cycles went from 28 days to 25 days for the last 3 months and o on cd11 well last month I was on gonal-f i got 4 cyst. My temps are low and I have been testing  twice everyday  12 noon and 8 pm since cd8 and LH surge and well no thermal shift either. and I'm confused I've never not o'd or had no thermal shift. And like you Friday I had EWCM and we BD . Tested on sat twice no surge detected .... ANY info appreciated cause I called RE and they want me to come in CD18  which is TUES to have progesterone blood test to see if I ovulated. I thought that would be on CD21.

Hi Amanda.
It's always good the bd when you see that special cm. It will keep those spermies alive for a couple of days. I always got ewcm a good 4 sometimes 5 days before and up until I "O".  So does that make you Ovulating on CD 9?

The ewcm is definately what tipped me off, so we did bd last night.  This morning it wasn't ewcm, but was again later today, plus got the positive OPK.  No doubt about it, this is an early O.  It's only day CD10 today.  AF has been showing around day 25 lately instead of day 28, so that would actually make it accurate for me to O around CD 11 and I would still have a 14 day luteal phase.  I guess my cycle has changed...maybe that's why no BFP last couple of cycles again....hopefull that changes this one!!  Thanks for the info Lisa!!!!  I don't have a copy of Taking charge of your fertility...almost bought it the other day, now I wish I had of!!

FYI.
This past cycle I checked my cm very closely and only bd when it was ewcm and slippery the day after ewcm about 2 days before normal O time..  I NEVER got a positive OPK this month, I did however get a BFP!
I hear its more important to BD when you have the fertile cm then to wait for the positve opk.
Do you have a copy of TCOYF?  I found that book really helped me to understand my body.

Aww, thanks hon!!  So I am blown away...just took another OPK and I am pretty sure it's positive (my drugstore was out of my favorite Happy Face ones, so am using the FR brand, and I always have trouble telling if the lines are the same colour, but they sure look that way!).  I guess I am ovulating early...and that means I am moving into the 2WW in a day or so....weird.
