OUCH!!

About a month ago I knelt down on my hardwood floor to clean a spill up. I had shooting pains in my knee that felt like a ripping sensation. For about 2-3 weeks after that i couldn't even bend my leg without extreme pain. Now it doesn't hurt anymore but the outside of my knee is numb to touch..ANyone have any idea what this could be? I thought maybe is has something to do with due to the relaxin hormone that relaxes your pelvic muscles, possibly doing the same thing to my knee? the pain/ numbness is on the outside lower portion of my right knee

I work with a orthopaedic surgeon and we see many patients for knee problems, its possible you may have a lateral meniscal tear that could be compressing on a nerve you may need to have a MRI to see whats going on in there. remember x-rays only show bone! MRI shows ligaments, tendons and will show if you have a tear of any sort. Are you pregnant sometimes they wont do these trst if you are expecting but get it checked out so it dont get worse..Good luck and i hope it gets better soon..

Could be a torn meniscus. Dh had this on both knees and had surgery for it.  See a dr to be sure.

I too would see your Dr.  I don't know a thing about knees, but I hate to see you in pain.  Good luck to you.

I do not know what this could be. Are u prego, I have heard that sometimes the baby could be sittin on a nerve or something but I dont know that he/she could be sitting on one that would affect a nerve n your knee. I would check with my dr and make sure everything is ok especially if you are prego. But this doesn't sound good especially with your knee being numb I wouldn't play/let it go too long untreated. Wish u the best!
