Removed Mirena to try for 1st baby

How do I determine my last menses & when I'm ovulating, if I didn't have regular menses for 3 years on Mirena? Had it removed 8/3/11, had light bleed only when wiping. Had coitus with husband 8/15/11 & bleeding increased with clots for a week then back to light bleed when wiping. Had coitus again with hubby 8/20/11 & no bleeding at all since. Could I be pregnant already or just wishful thinking, lol?

Most doctors recommend that you wait until after you have had at least one regular period before trying to conceive after stopping birth control...mostly because it makes it easier to date the pregnancy. With no last menstrual period and in absence of a OPK (ovulation predictor kit) it is difficult to date the pregnancy (not impossible though...early ultrasound is pretty accurate).

All that said, I've heard so many different things about conception post-Mirena I can't even guess when you will be fertile. A few women I have read about were able to get pregnant right away but most took 3-6 months (and a few took a year or so). It varies SO much...no telling where you will fall.

All that said I wish you the very, very best a lots of SSBD! (super sticky baby dust)
