Should I take a PG test?

Hi Ladies,

I am new to posting online, but I can't help but get an opinion/suggestions of others possibly in my predicament!

I would not say that my husband and I are actively ttc, but we are trying a little more than usual.  My issue is that my menses is so darn irregular from month to month that it is virtually impossible to tell when I may/may not be ovulating. I recently used an OPK at my Dr's advice and was pretty sure that on the days I tested I did not see a surge.  I used  an online ovulation calendar to help predict timing and we pretty much were intimate every other day of last month (April.)  My last menses was before was April 5th, before that February 28th- so a 36 day cycle. If I was a perfect 36 day cycle then I would have gotten my menses on 5/11/2010, but here I am three days late- have cramping on and off throughout the day for the last week or so , breast tenderness, slight breast swelling and feel slightly more tired than ususal, also have sleep disturbances for the last week or so.  I would love to be pregnant, but I tend to get my hopes up almost every month and sometimes I just stop thinking about it.  I am 35 and turning 36 in a few months. I was really hoping to be pregnant by then.  If I go another day late, should I take a HPT?  At this point I really don't want to because the results may be negative, but then again if I am I would like to start prenatal care asap!  Please tell me your thoughts on my post.  Thank you.

Another quick question... just curious...

Since I am only three days late at this point and if AF does not come after tomorrow- makes 4 days late and I continue to experience cramping at various intervals- meaning through out the day can lessen then gradually become worse like AF is just about to arrive any minute but does not.  Is that normal pregnancy cramping??  Or should I be otherwise concerned about otehr issues since I do have IBS as well....--thank you!

***Still no bleeding, still tender breast, slightly swollen and feel like AF could come any minute!!!! really really hate this!!!!!!    (I'm trying to be calm about this considering I have not taken an HPT yet- but Ladies I throw kudos out there for sharing your stories with complete strangers and all that each of you go through- may god bless you all woth your miracle!

I was thinking of taking a test after the weekend just because my cycles are all over the place...  Even today I feel the cramping and I was pretty tired this morning.  This afternoon the cramps are settling a little- breast are still tender.  Gosh It's so hard to tell!!!  I don't feel like I am since I feel pretty much the same just before AF, however the cramping has been a little worse this time around (using a heating pad sometimes at night) but no bledding in sight...  Thank you for responding to me! : )  god bless...

I would definitely take a test tomorrow if you do not start before than. Sounds like you could definitely be having symptoms of early pregnancy. Good luck to you =)

If u are infact pregnant, and late for your period, then by now a accurate reading should be on a HPT! I say test...thats the only way to find out! Best of luck.. :D
