Abnormal Pregnancy

I went to the emergency room a week ago and was told that I had a abnormal pregnancy at 5 wks and 5 days, and that there was no fetal pole but a sac, that I should expect to miscarry anytime now. I went to another hospital, who told me that I had a uti and bv, i was given meds for both. and was told that it wasnt an etopic pregnancy. that all was well. I cant help but worry about the first diagnoses. I am still sick with morning sickness and so forth. no bleeding some cramping, but nothing so serious. should I be worried. has anyone gone through this? can you help me?

I had u/s at what i thought was 6w5d.  They found a sac but no fetal pole.  I was panicking...called my Dr and she told me not to worry and reassured me that this happens all the time.  Dr rescheduled another u/s in 10 days.  10 days later they found the fetal pole and heartbeat and my dates were off by 7 days.  The waiting was the hardest.  Keep us posted.

I have to agree with Jen (I seem to do that alot..lol).  Its very possible it was just too early.  Growth happens so quickly at this stage and it's possible to have another ultrasound just a few days later and see a fetal pole, and possibly even a heartbeat.  If you are not bleeding or cramping I would try not to worry (I know, much easier said then done).  When is your ultrasound being repeated?  Also, as Jen said, 2 betas 2 days apart will let you know if those numbers are rising.  Best of luck to you, I know what a stressful time this is.  It's why many dr.'s won't do ultrasounds that early...it can create alot of unnecessary worry. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.  Please let us know how it goes.

I posted earlier to this thread but I guess it got lost in the process when MH shut down for upgrades.  Anyway, what I think is that w/only being 5w5d, it's very possible that it's too early to see anything more than a gestational sac at this time.  I would repeat the u/s in a week to see what the pregnancy's doing.  

I'm surprised that they didn't do a couple of betas two days apart to see what your numbers are doing but having a good u/s w/a fetal pole w/a heartbeat trumps everything.  So you're in the waiting game but it's very possible that everything's okay.  best of luck!! - jen
