hospital bag

so I have never had to pack one before hand before since I was induced both times... did you all buy an extra toothbrush to pack, brush, all that stuff or did you just shove it in as you were leaving to the hospital?  ok..

I always bring my own robe to put on when I have to get up and walk!!  Seems more comfy to me!  You can also bring a magazine or book, incase things are taking awhile to progress.

flip flops for the shower, eeew, we don't know how well they've been cleaned after everyone giving birth :)  I found to live in the nursing tank tops from Target....they are less bulky than motherhood and a Godsend!! They come in black, greay and white in the normal bra section. Like an endcap. I think Liz Lang makes them and they are in a little plastic pouch kind of package. Everyone should have them!! Oh, yeah, GUM, I remember just having a dry mouth a lot and apologizing to the nurse, sorry for the breath, ha ha ha

I found that the baby newborn t-shirts work a little better than the onesies until the cord falls off. And remember to wash everything in Dreft, or another gentle baby laundry detergent, before using with baby.

With only 4 weeks, 6 days left, I should really start thinking about packing my bag too. Thank you for the reminder!

I do have things like...
Pads (to my liking)
toothbrush (I did buy a new one in case I wouldn't have time to grab it last minute)
toothpaste (trial size)
floss
body wash (trial size)
shampoo (trial size)
deodorant
nursing pads
lanolin lotion
extra underwear
extra socks
breastfeeding bra
night gown
wear home clothes ( sweat pants and a shirt)

I do live miles and miles from the hospital so I didn't want to take a chance on forgetting something so my bag has been packed and in my trunk for a while now.

I just started thinking about the hospital bag this weekend - I'm making a list of things to bring.  I think I may pack up shampoo and that kind of stuff in little bottles (like travel sized) and maybe a new toothbrush and that sort of thing, but then I guess it will be last minute throwing things in a bag.  Of course, we only live 20 minutes from the hospital and have a ton of family around, so if I forget something, someone can always run by my house and get it for me.  I don't think DH is staying with me the whole time anyway - someone has to take care of the furry children at home while I'm in the hospital!

I just took the one I had with me but if you are worried you will forget it, buying a new one is a good idea.
