Thought I was 6 weeks + but told development more like 5 weeks....

Hi.  My last period started 24.01.2010.  On 22.02.2010 my HCG read 50.  On 27.02.2010 my HCG read 200 but nothing could be seen on a transvaginal ultrasound.  On 09.03.2010 my HCG read 2,000 and a sac and fetal pole together with fluttering fetal heartbeat (!) could be seen on a transvaginal ultrasound.  I was pretty sure on that day I was 6 weeks and 1 day, however, the doctor said the size of the sac and the rate of the heartbeat was more like that of aprrox. 5 weeks.  I am scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks but am, of course, worried waiting.  I haven't had an massive pregnancy symptoms except for being very tired and mild breast tenderness and feeling of nausea.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Many thanks.

Dont' worry about the size its not way off and let baby have a chance to grow - besides our dates could be "off" up to 2weeks (don't forget ovulation and implantation time ).  You saw a sac and a fetal pole and a fluttering of heartbeat - that's great news.  Try to stay positive.  You are experiencing pg symptoms - everyone's experience is different.  The progesterone levels will increase as the pg progresses and you might suddenly get hit with massive nausea and sore sore bb's.  I was worried like you at 5 weeks but, after 6 weeks - whoaaaaa !   Good luck and wishing you a very happy , healthy pregnancy :D   Congrats !

It has happened before,  I read of some women with smaller sacs than what they were at and later when they went for scan abt 1-2 weeks later, the sac had grown to the size they were supposed to be. Try to think positive and eat well - good luck and I hope you get great news in 2 weeks time. Are you from Dubai by any chance? (seeing from your name). I have been to Dubai and I loved shoppin there!
