Reasons for not feeling flutters anymore?

So, I know the baby's okay...I can hear the heartbeat and we just had our OB appt last week. But all of a sudden yesterday, I realized that I haven't felt the flutters in about a week to week and a half.  I was feeling them almost every night and sometimes during the day for about a week or so....

Has this happened to anyone else and any ideas as to why?

I too loved everything about being pregnant, including all the aches and pains and bedrest with my second.  I was even happy to have morning sickness (all day)
I would happily go through it all again but it isn't meant to be.

LOL  - I couldn't agree more. I know that I have gotten nervous and anxious about everything and there are still moments that I do, but I do love being pregnant. I love my feet and ankles getting swollen (I look, obsessively, to see if they are swollen 'yet' throughout the day). I agree about the heartburn...that hasn't been so much fun!

I told my friend yesterday that this is my "Official Princess Time"....I love being able to go to bed when I want, eat what I want, relax when I want ;) LOL

Wow, that makes me sound like a brat...but do you know what I mean? All these years of trying and now there's this little miracle inside of me and it's all about them, so I get to do whatever I need to do to protect them!

This is gonna sound nuts, but I already have moments where I am sad that I'm not going to be pregnant forever. Y'know? It's like the thought pops into my head that this is going to end in a few months...sigh!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better about everything...  pregnancy is a wonderful time (I think)  I loved every moment (and I too rented a doppler-  and listened a few times a day)....  I loved getting huge (it is a lot of work now to not be so huge),  I loved having all the aches and pains,  I - ok, well,  I didn't love the heartburn....  I loved feeling them move around all the time...  I am probably weird,  but I know I am one of the few people who loved everything about it!  and in the end you get to hold this sweet little baby, who has the best scent you have ever smelled in your life...................................   then they grow up!  ;)

Thanks! ;)

I loved the flutters so much that I think I'm sad not to be feeling them more for myself than anything else.  But last night, I felt HUGE (bbs included, so I guess I had nothing to worry about back when I posted about them ;) ), and that made me feel great!  I can't wait to be GIGANTIC-O!!! :)

Amanda,  half way there!  WOW!  I just wanted to say that I don't think you'll regret saying that you can't wait for those days!  I never once complained about that-  it is to me the number one best thing about being pregnant-  the closeness you feel to your baby, feeling him move around in you-  Colten could kick hard too!  But I loved each and every one-  it is awesome when they get so big and they start rolling around....  that is the only reason I'd ever like to be pregnant again!  I loved it!   So excited that you guys are entering that phase!

I had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday, and they checked for placental location then.  They actually didn't tell me where mine was, only that they could rule out placenta previa (whew!).  I don't feel my little man regularly yet either..some days I feel him often, other's not at all. He is still pretty tiny, so depending on where he is.....ultrasound makes it look like he is very hyper though..lol.  This child never seems to sit still!  I am with you, I cannot wait to start feeling those regular kicks and punches...perhaps a "careful what we wish for..hmm".

I have an anterior placenta (in front), and yeah, it can muffle some of the kicks and punches. I can still totally feel them, though, but mostly on the sides. Sometimes I also feel them in the middle and towards the back (the back ones are really weird!), but mostly on the sides. They told me about the position of my placenta when I had my 18 week sonogram.

LOL - you girls make me laugh! ;)

Kelly...I am sure that I am going to regret this (and you are free to remind me of this post when I am complaining) but I CANNOT wait until the kicks and punches ;)

I read somewhere about the placenta can be in front, so you don't feel as much.  When will they be able to tell me where the placenta is? Will they do that at the Level 2 u/s? My OB doesn't do u/s at every 4 week check-up...she just listens to the hb!

LOL, I asked this question today. I have had days where I feel him nonstop and then days where I feel nothing. Doc did the doppler and he was a wild man. Just perfect. She said that at this size they can do entire summersaults that we do not feel. She said they are always kicking but if the flip and kick the placenta or near the back of our uterus you cannot feel it.  Now in a few weeks she said it will be much more noticeable. Another interesting thing is that right now we can only feel kicks but when they grow a little more we will also feel the punches. ;)   Oh the joys!

Sometimes when the baby changes positions the flutterings aren't as noticeable.  Perhaps your baby is facing inward.     I can't remember how far along you are but as your pregnancy progresses you will feel movement everyday again.
