bpm- beats per minute.

At my first ultrasound today, (12 weeks) my baby's heart rate measured 160bpm. I've had two boys and when I was pregnant with them I had a steady 140 with them. I wonder if it's a girl this time. Can anyone tell me if it's true about the heart rate indicating a boy or girl, please?

Best wishes to everyone.

My toddler, girl was always 150 hb. My current pregnancy is the same and this one is a boy so i don't believe that. I DO however believe in the ring test, i stand by it 100%, it's been right with my babies and friends. Hold a ring on a necklace over your belly, if it goes in circles girl, back and forth boy.

My son's heart rate was so consistently 164 that we called him "Little 164" for  months.

My baby has been at 140 every appointment and it's a girl. The bbm is just an old wives tale.

Its just an old wives tail. Sometimes girls will have a higher heart rate, sometimes boys will have a higher heart rate. All three of mine (2 boys 1 girl) had hearts that stayed around 140.
