Pregnant at 46

Hello All, I am 46yrs old,  I want to get pregnant.  Please no negative comments.   Can I pregnant with donor eggs?  I read here, for 6 ivf cycle cost is $29000 with money back guarantee.  Can someone tell me Doctors address?  I am from Canada.  This is in US right?  How long I have to stay there?  Do I have to pay time one time or two payments?

I've looked into ShadyGrove and they have many programs that you can have a donor all to yourself or share with one or two other couples, but that is up to you. The fees are lower if you share but they do have a guarantee.
Good luck to you and

I am also in the US.  I am 39 & pregnant with donor eggs through my first cycle.  I am now 5 months pregnant with TWIN BOYS.  We also have 11 frozen embryos.
We didn't do the shared cycle & kept the donor to our selves.  We paid around $25,000.

Good Luck to you.

I was reading your post and you asked for no negative comments. I hope no one on here TTC would ever have negative comments. Babies are beautiful. Children are wonderful and as long as you have breath in your body and strength in your heart to raise a child, I say GO FOR IT! That's awesome. I don't have any advice on DE but I hope you find what you need and be able to accomplish this. Good luck and major blessings your way Niki!

It sounds like the rules are different in Canada so you should look into that!  It is only a decision you can make, for me it was what I felt like was the best choice.  Our babies will be my dh genetic children and my biological.  I did not want to spend money on IVF and then end up needing to do DE (donor eggs) in the end.

When you initially go in- they will do a complete exam and bloodwork.  They could tell, especially at my age, I had low ovararian reserve.  There are women on here that are trying IVF because that has the potential of working for them and using their own eggs is important.  It is all about what is right for you!

There is a great book called 'the baby solution' that tells all about the testing and procedure for IVF in detail.  There is a chapter on ART- assisted reproduction that was helpful too.

Best wishes and keep us posted!

I believe DE is Donor Eggs.

No one can make this decision for you. If this is something you want and you have the resources to do it (not just for the conception but to raise the child)...I say go for it :)

I am 7 weeks pg with identical twins- from DE.  It was not a shared cycle.  We did not get many eggs- but they were strong!!!!!!!!!!  I was over 44 when we started researching this- so skipped right to DE and never tried ivf.  I think prices and practice vary.  Best wishes to you!

I am 39 & pregnant with TWIN BOYS via donor eggs.  This worked for me on the first cycle & I have 11 frozen embies.  I went directly through my IVF DR although I have heard that many people go to Shady Grove which will cost the price of $29,000 with money back.  The only draw back is that you will share the eggs with 2 other people so the # of eggs you get depends if you are the first person, 2nd or 3rd.  Google & call them for a phone consult.  Good Luck!!!

Hey there!  So the reality is that at 46 it is true that your best chance is for donor eggs.  I am also a Canadian (42) looking into donor eggs and there are a few extra challenges here our American friends may not be familiar with.  It is illegal to pay for donor eggs in this country. THere are options to go to the US, but as Canadian citizens the cost is higher for us.  If at all possible, the best bet is to find your own donor...a friend or family member, that is willing to do this for you. THere are also options of sharing donor eggs and getting involved in programs that way, but again, it would mean US travel.  An RE in Canada will not transfer a donor egg that they know has been bought, just because of the laws here.  Just some things to consider.  Make an appointment with an OB/GYN or RE who can get you involved in shared US programs.  Good luck to you.

I am 45 and have been trying for a little more than a year with my own eggs. I know you can get PG with donor eggs! I am looking into frozen eggs in NYC and it's only $10,000.00 for 6 eggs. I go on the 20th of june. It's called new hope fertility . com. Check them out.
