how long??

My waters broke 9.1/2 hours ago and im still not having regular contractions.  Im still at home and my midwife said see will come to my house when 3mins apart. I have no idea if im dilated as we dont check here intill active labor. How long after your waters broke did you have your baby?? This is my 2nd baby  but my son was a forceps delivery as he was stuck and waters broke during active labor ;)

I'm from Australia, which has pretty similar procedure to NZ, and like the other ladies said it's probably best to go and get checked. Can you go and see your midwife, or ask her to come and see you because you're a bit uncertain? Sometimes when your water breaks they like to monitor you and baby, especially if their was meconium (poo) in your water.

With my first my water broke in the evening...and I had no contractions all night.  Was advised by doctor to go to hospital where they decided to induce me as its not good for baby to be in too long after water beeaks.  I would follow your doctors advice in your situation.

How much are you dilated to? Because when your water breaks your suppose to go to the l&d, not wait for contractions. Never heard of that.
