how to sanitize secondhand toys

I bought some baby toys at a yardsale We all know babies are dirty and put things in their mouths and All that good stuff so I'm wondering how i clean these toys? They are battery powered and a little large so they can not be sub merged in water. Please do not suggest bleach or Lysol, There is a Chance when he plays with them he might try to put his mouth on one. So i don't want Any stay on harsh chemicals Thanks!

Yeah just use a disinfectant, as stated above, allow to dry, then wipe with warm to hot h2o, then dry well. The residue should come right off. Same as when we clean our kitchen counters and such.

Wash them with ordinary detergent to get rid of any dirt etc and then clean again with a sterilising liquid or disinfectant.. allow to dry thoroughly and then you are good to go.....

you could wipe them down with boiled water or if you dont have a steamer or cant afford one you could use a vaporizer to steam them

If you have a hand held steamer you can use that, but they're pretty spendy if you don't. I would agree w Bonita, use bleach or Lysol and then wipe them down after.  Diluted bleach is obsolete after a few days anyway- that's actually how you make storable drinking water. I wouldn't worry at all if you let it dry and then wipe it.

If you used bleach you can always wipe it down after a few times with hot water to get the bleach off. Thats the only thing i can think of to really sanitize them. Or try Dawn dish soap diluted down, but you'll need to wipe it down again to get the soap off.
