Like the above posters said, they're not the same, but clomid can also help increase your progesterone. Basically, in a natural cycle, the follicle that holds the egg will start to produce progesterone after ovulation. Since clomid gives you a "stronger" egg (or several eggs), the progesterone will increase as well. Your doctor will be able to give you more info once you get your blood results. They like to see a progesterone level of more than 10 in an unmedicated cycle, and 15 in a medicated cycle (the test should be done at 7 dpo). If your levels are still low on clomid, and you did ovulate, your doctor will probably prescribe a progesterone supplement for future cycles.
Good luck, Katie!
Hi Katie! I'm on progesterone, 2x a day, 400mg total after 2 m/c's in 5mo. I'm 35 my DH is 45, and apparently my ovaries are old, so I'm not producing enough progesterone to make the baby "stick". Sounds like you're geting prego, so you shouldn't need Clomid to help you ovulate. I'm actually 8DPO and praying for a BFP in 6days! I know EXACTLY how you feel right now, and my prayers go out to you, and STICKY BABYDUST to you for your next try! It'll happen.

I take the progestrone since Ive had previous m/c to help maintain my preg. And the baby aspirin was because I had some major clotting w/my last m/c as well. But as the ladies above mentioned they are NOT the same thing. I wish you well on your next attempt at TTC
It's not the same the clomid is to help you Ovulate and the progestrone suppliement are to keep you progestrone high enough to sustain an healthy pregnancy and baby asprin is a low dose asprin 81 Mg
I took all three and still take the baby asprin......
If you suffer from low progesterone, I am sure your dr. will put you on it as well. I am also going to be starting chlomide and progesterone (am waiting to find out now if I am pregnant, then it would just be progesterone), but as leighanne said, they serve 2 very different purposes.
I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope all turns out well for you. Good luck
no clomid makes you drop more eggs. progesterone is a hormone that helps your uterus lining.
the baby aspirin is what many doctors tell a women who has had MC in the past to take just as a preventative of thick blood or strnage clotting blood. it is just an 81mg aspirin.
