sry... ITs been a while

Samantha.... is one month old, wow.. time flys!!!
sorry I havent been on for a while, Im still trying to get settled. Samantha is such a handful yet a Joy. she just grunts and I come running. boy does she have it figured out too. her cry uh uh uh...
She is doing wonderful!! really putting on some pounds, she already has two chins, and three rolls around her thighs.
was a bit fussy but I finally figured out how she wants to be held and what her crys are saying.  but now all is sweet, she is starting to coo more and more each day. although... I must say, its only been two good days in a row. smile
wow... I forgot how hard this can get!!!

I posted a picture for u guys to see just how wonderful she is doing. for such a small girl a month ago, is turning into a big girl already. I havent weigh her yet. two weeks old she had gained 2lb. Im sure she is a 10 pounder now.. or more.
still breastfeeding, and boy is it kicking my butt.  funny how I know when she s going to get up to eat befor shes even up! refuses a pachy from me but will take it for others? go figure. she wakes up at 1am and then 5am so I guess thats not bad for a month old?

I should start having some time to check on you guys time to time. Hope all is doing well and having fun with their LO!!
going to read some of the other post and try to get updated on whats what...

congratulations on all the births and all the new pregnancys... I will try and send personal notes if Sammi will let me. lol

go ahead and take a peek of her.....isnt she just a doll...oh I am sooo much in love

Thank you. This is our 3rd and you'd think I would have a better clue by now, but each baby has been a little different. And with a few years in between, it's difficult to remember all the details of the newborn stage. I'll try to search online for the baby cry video, that sounds really interesting. We can tell when she's working on a BM, and during the day it is easier to distinguish between hungry and tired, but starting around 5-6pm, her personality seems to change as the cluster feedings start. Last night after all the cluster nursing, she did sleep from 1:30am to 6:30am. I have noticed the less cluster nursing she does in the evening, the shorter time blocks she'll sleep during the night. Thanks again!

tahariel...

not really sure how Im doing it? but she seems to be pretty set on those times. just like clock work. I start rocking at 8.30pm and shes out by 9pm. She set the time I didnt.
I just learned that when she wants to nurse all the time at night, shes really just wanting  suck,  not really wanting the food. funny how they already show us their demands.
I have been reading alot on cluster feeding and thinking it was that?... wrong!!! It was just the simple fact of sucking. She's really not a big fan of the patchy yet.
It gets so hard at times trying to figure out what they want...
I found a video on the net, what the crys are actually saying.. each cry has a sound for us to listen to.. If I can find it ?, I will send it to you. but from what I can remember ?? the Neh sound means hungry, the Owe sound means tired and the Awh sound means gas.. burp me. really interesting.  thus far... it tends to be true.. funny even dh will say.. thats the  Awh sound.. she has a bubble. lol
also.. I have learned to watch her body movements while she sleeps,. If she tends to wiggle even alittle, its a gas bubble and she needs burped. It ***** to have to pick her up and burp her, but with mine? 9 times out of 10 its the case. and when she is  full,no gas, and clean... all is  good. smile Mine is just gassy and darn it.. even the littlest bubble keeps her up wiggling til I get it.
now that I have her figured out? she will change the demands... Im sure
I also know with her.. If she gets the big eyes, she will stay up til the next feeding, so I dont even try to put her out befor then. durning the day?.. she eats every two hours, only one side.

Does your little one have a regular bedtime that she gets up at 1am and 5am?

My little girl is almost 5 weeks old and never goes to sleep at the same time at night. Every night is different. I'm trying to figure out the best way to start helping her figure out a more regular/predictable bedtime to help keep me and hubby sane. Some nights she falls asleep (and stays asleep) around 10:30pm and other nights she won't fall asleep until 2am or later!  And she wants to nurse constantly until she finally does fall asleep. If we swaddle her and try to rock her to sleep instead, she gets angry and cries so loud.  It's like her way or no way!

Hi mama!!  Wow - congratulations!!!!!  I looked at the pics on your profile - she is a little doll!!!  Isn't it just such an awesome feeling when you see them grow and get the chubby cheeks - it feels SO rewarding!!  How are the doggies adjusting to life with little Sammi?  Enjoy every moment mama - they're a blessing.  Neena was born on Easter Sunday and is our complete joy.  She wakes up every morning and lies in her brib chatting with her little animals and laughing and cracking herself up.  I wonder what's so funny?!!!  x A
