pregnant at 45?

Hello i am looking for anyone around my age who found she was pregnant. After 2 boys and 21 years late i forgot and wondering if being older gives you different symptoms. Both at home tests i took came out negative after being late 6 to 8 weeks. Wondering on pins and needles,- limen2005.

I recently found out I was pregnant at 45 but miscarriaged at 8.5 weeks. My boyfriend who I'm dating now 3 years is 32 years old he has no children yet. Myself I have a daughter who is 24 and a granddaughter who is 8 months old. I was shocked the way I was treated mostly by women and doctors when found out I was pregnant. People were very negative and the doctors act as if I was an old lady falling apart. I had my d & c last on thursday and my boyfriend and I decided not to let people their comments bother us and continue enjoying having sex without a condom.

hi, it's a tricky one.  a home test at 6-8 weeks late should give you a pretty clear cut answer.  it would be unlikely that a pregnancy test would come up negative if you were pregnant - even after one week they are pretty accurate.  sorry.  but at 45, you are still in the running for a successful pregnancy and don't be put off by the negative medics response to your age in terms of pregnancy.  read great books and pray.  get to know your body all over again.  it's a different experience having a baby now than it was when you had your two boys.  it can be glorious.  i was almost 43 when i had my last child and at 47 i am still hopeful for a naturally concieved 4th child.  good luck. belinda

I am a few years younger then you, so I am sorry, I cannot comment on the pregnant at 45 question.  However, if you are that late and your HPT's keep saying negative, I would see a Dr. and have blood done.  It will at least give you the answers you are looking for.  I wish you all the best!
