I'm sorry but I have no idea what you are going through. I breastfed both of my girls. Good luck hope you find the answers.
My daughter stayed constipated til she turned a year and switched to milk. I literally gave her a suppository about 2-3 times a week and I would have to help her push. They do make done for children but they are still kinda big so I would break them in half and only give one half at a time. Hope this helps!!
Are you breast or formula feeding and what does it look like when he goes? If its not hard or like pellets then its not constipation. Breast fed babies don't go daily, some only once a week and that's totally fine. If you are breast feeding and he's very gassy look into your diet, try cutting out gassy foods such as broccoli, beans, and minimize dairy. If you are formula feeding have you considered a "sensitive" formula?
My son was constipated when a newborn- he was 1 month old. One evening he was crying and wouldn't stop, so hubby and I rushed him to the hospital. The doctor told us not to worry, that some babies take up to a week before pooping, and that's ok. So if I were you, I would hold of giving baby any medication. God bless!
How small do I cut the glycerin suppositories? We asked our walmart pharmacy where they were & they supposedly didnt have any. Im on WIC, sp.if I change his formula, I have to have a prescription from his doctor.
Have you explored the possibility of your baby being Lactose Intolerant?
you can cut glycerin supositories to make them smaller for babies. some people also have good results from adding like a tsp of coconut oil into a bottle of formula/milk.
If your bf you could try looking at your diet as some foods can both baby and if formula try gentleese or another brands gentle for tummy types. My niece had this issue and gentleese worked well
If you're formula feeding you might try a different one. Most make a gentle formula that is supposed to be easier to digest.
I had to buy suppositories for my son. I found them at walmart. He was always constipated and gassy!
