I did pilates/yoga to strengthen the muscles around that area. I shall be doing the same this time. I bought a video to help as there are no classes for mums in the area. However my pilates teacher is happy for me to keep attending her class
I used a lot of ice, every hour for 10-20 min and I contacted my doctor who sent me to physical therapy for it. Once I got the flare up under control I did streanth training the therapist gave me. I was so glad I didnt have to take pain medication. Mine was pretty bad too, I could barely walk, I had to hang on to the car door to get out and before I could even take a step. Oh, as painful as it was, walking helped a lot. My hubby would come home and make me walk and then I put lots of ice on the problem spot, thats when I got better quickly. I hope you can figure out what works for you. Sitting/laying still all the time wont help, its just temp relief :(
Yes I have with two of my three children..I honestly would stretch my back and had hubby rub and massage it...it seemed to give relief. Hope you feel better..it really is painful.
See a chiropractor. The relief can not be described. They can also help with hip pain. Also, being properly aligned helps ease labor.
I have been seeing a chiropractor for my sciatic pain for the past few months. It has helped tremendously. I never seen a chiro before and don't care to take unnessisary meds so I thought I'd try something so I could function.
I found Chiropractic way too painful this time, I've tried massage and acupuncture which both helped a little. Ice and Tylenol when it's at its worse....mine started at 20 weeks, I'm now 38 weeks and can barely get around. Start some kind of treatment as early as you can, it's awful :( I wondered about physio therapy? As strengthening and stretching should help. Good luck!
I had a work place accident at 6mths pregnant, rotated my hip damaged three discs & lots of nerve damage .. sciatic pain can be completely dibilitating..i used accupuncture for pain relief , worked an absolute treat & continued with it after baby was born while breastfeading ..highly recomend it
Chiropractic treatments is all that has helped me.
My Dr told me all I could do was to lay down and put my feet up, it hurts so bad like you can barely walk, sit, or stand. I asked for him to sign papers for work to take hours down or to say I couldn't. He would not. It was to much pain and I had to quit, which *****.
My leg would go dead wherever I was with my first
Thanks for the responses I have been doing the stretches and walking and it seems to help I'm 8 months so hopefully it doesn't get worse
Glad to hear that! Stay mobile, dont let up on walking and ice. I had back surgery to repair a ruptured disc last year so I know how painful it can be. Hope it doesnt flare up again :)
