I had my shower at 6 months, they thougt I was going to be on bed rest because I was sick everyday thru my entire pregnancy, 9 1/2 months. (she was 2 weeks late.) No harm in having it done early & maybe, just maybe you will have that extra bit of engery to get the room done yourself instead of relying on someone else. I wish you all the best.
Do u already have names for bundles of joy? I think u are so lucky I'll be happy with just one.
I agree - do the registry thing. I think it's great for you to get your shower done at 6 months. With my first two children, we waited too long and I missed both of my showers which was a drag. Plus the earlier you get it done, the sooner you'll get your nursery complete which can be a huge burden if you happen to wait 'til the last minute (like me).
Oh yeah, - one more thing - do remember that you'll be getting gifts long after the shower from those who miss it. That has happened to us so now we have so many duplicates - like two swings, two Boppy pillows, two baby bouncers, three carriers, and the list goes on. Try to get gift receipts if at all possible. Of course you'll need lots of duplicates so this would've worked for you....sigh........
We don't have kids and I have no idea what expectant parents need. It made our life so much easier when our friends registered. This way we knew that we were buying something they wanted. Also, try to pick items in all price ranges so that people with different incomes can pick items they can afford. Variety definitely helps.
Enjoy!!
Usually the store where you are registering will give you little cards that the person throwing the shower can add into the invitations.
A friend of a friend had her water break during gift opening at her shower, so having a shower a little early for twins might be a good idea. Enjoy!!!
wow I wonder why I have such a long blank after my post LOL
I would tell them where your registered. makes it easy for you and them..
should I put a list in the invite of what i'm wanting.....or just tell them where I'm registered?
I don't think it is too early at all. I am almost 36 weeks and I have my last shower this coming Saturday. I have been living in fear that I would go into labor right before the shower and miss it-so I think the earlier the better. Also, if you register, it seems that no one really buys off of it. So if there is something you really want or need, you will have a little time to get it yourself instead of waiting for the next shower to see if you get it. Have fun!
