I find it easier to close my eyes, ignore everyone in the room, and just breath though them, just think at the end it will all be worth it. Im on my 5th baby, this method has worked 3 times for me. Good luck.
I wasnt screaming or all dramatic when I was in labor... not at all... I moaned due to the pain, but it wasnt loud or anything. ... I never told hubby I hated him or anything like that...
Check out some writings by Ina May Gaskin, one of the most famous earth mama midwives out there. Check out Birth Without Fear which is a really awesome blog with a lot of awesome birth stories. Check out Hypnobabies... though that might take more time than you really have left.
Your body was built for this and you are strong enough to handle it. Birth is amazing. It hurts but it's incredible. During my natural birth I didn't scream, it was much more productive to moan from way down low (from the diaphragm, full-voice, if you've ever sung in a choir you probably know what I mean by that). Make sure you don't ever hold your breath through a contraction, it hurts way way worse. Focus on the outcome and keep the atmosphere in the room positive. If someone is stressing or freaking out, kick them out. All you need is calm support. And if you do get dramatic, don't get embarrassed. Especially at transition, every mama gets a little unhinged... you're doing probably the hardest thing you can possibly do, it's normal to lose your **** a little bit. After you pass through transition you can get your bearings back and put it back together. You can do it, stay focused and stay motivated and stay stubborn and you can totally rock it - don't doubt yourself for a minute. Natural birth is the most amazing thing I've ever done.
