Yeah that happened to me with all of my kids. And Havincinco's explanation is completely right. Well, at one point someone told me using a dandruff shampoo should help. I tried it and it seemed to work but I don't know if that was just a coincidence out not. It might have just been the timing. But like all of the above said, it does go back to normal in a few months
This is still happening to me too, and my son is 6 months old, i seem to have really thinned out all around my hairline. But don't worry, it does thicken up and grow back. Don't know if you're still breastfeeding, but that causes hair loss too. And i straighten my hair almost everyday too. With my second son i even went to the doctor about it as i was really worried something was wrong, but was told it was just normal. I had a blood count done too to check for any vitamin deficiencies too, but nope, all normal.
This happened to me too, and it was bad and people could notice. It eventually stopped but I don't remember when.. and my hair grew back. hopefully It will soon for you.
This is really really common, so no worries. The average person loses 100 hairs a day. During pregnancy, your hormones help you to retain more hair. Your circulation is better and usually your nails grow faster too. After the baby is born it all kind of catches up at some point, as those hormones change over from progesterone to estrogen. Anyway, you're probably not losing anymore hair than usual, just the stockpile of hair that you had built up while pregnant. (I worked in a hair salon-lol)
