Heartburn

Is there anything else I can take for heartburn besides tums and rolaids? I have done everything correct, as far as what I eat and potions but even water gives me heartburn. Now im up feeling like a fire breathing dragon. Dr keeps telling me what I already take should work. I really wish I could wake him up when I cant sleep, like now.

Ask your doctor if they can send you for an ultrasound to check for gall stones. I had them with my first pregnancy & when the doctor figured it out, he told me that pregnancy hormones can exacerbate gall stones. I had constant pain in between my breasts & in between my shoulder blades. Nothing helped. I took Tylenol, slept with a bottle of Mylanta on the headboard & was still in pain.
It's worth asking about. In the 18 years since, I've heard of this happening to other women.

The dr can prescribe you heart burn pills if nothing else seems to be working.

I drank like those protein shakes and it helped me personally.  I have diabetes so it was Lucerne Shakes, but I imagine stuff like Weight Watchers shakes would work also.
I felt like the thickness and milkiness soothed it better.
