I just went to the ob this afternoon and he had a hard time finding the bh at first when he finally found it he said sounds good, checked my cervix and pushed on my belly and said I was 2cm. And baby was no longer head down. He had the sono tech on duty squeeze me in between her appts to double check babys position sure enough baby is side ways her head is on my right side by my ribs.
Maybe if you don't have any change in your contractions then just wait for your guy to get home and go from there. I'd try drinking some water and laying down to see if those contractions just taper off. Maybe it's just false labor!!
its pretty rare as usually babies head is down but it generally happens when bub is still floating above the pelvis, a breech baby or a transverse baby, if you think that they are contractions, I would ring and explain the situation, they may want you to go in to check babies position again
Well stacey10 mentioned if my water breaks I might end up dealing with prolapsed cord. Im kinda debating on going to the hospital now but I'm afraid of them just sending me home again, I'm home alone with just my 3 yr old son.
It's the cord passing through the cervix close to the vagina so when you deliver it puts more risk to the baby.
a prolapsed cord is when your waters break and baby isnt head down, then the cord can slip through your cervix and cut off the babies blook supply, if your waters were to break and babies head isnt down you need to get on all fours and have your bum up in the air to lessen the chance of the cord slipping through your cervix
It's am emergency to the baby, why?
What's prolapsed cord? I would Google it but I'm afraid that would only make my anxiety worse.
usually its the babies head when its down that helps the contractions along, if you change positions and your still having them, try and jump into a shower or bath and see if that settles them down, unless bub has already turned head down with you realising it, your right, you dont want your waters to break as you may then be dealing with a prolapsed cord
About 6 hours long. I didn't time my contractions then I was into much pain to even care. Lol. But now with my baby being transverse I'm really hoping I have enough time to get to the hospital on time. Worst fear is my water breaking.
Wow!! Do you remember how long your last labor was? Mine was two hours long so I need to get to the hospital ASAP!!
I'm starting to panic a bit I've timed these past few contractions and they are 15/20 mins apart. I talked to my hubby on the phone (he is an hour away due to work) and all he kept saying was it'll be ok everything will be fine. Just really wish he was here now.
I don't really remember how fast my contractions progressed during my labor with my son.
Yes your water still can break, my baby was transverse til almost 37wks. He's head down now though!
They can try to help her turn...I heard its a bit painful but it helps....or I would say try to look up some natural ways to get her to turn back around....or maybe she isn't ready lol....I'm not too sure about the water breaking question because I'm a ftm and only 26 weeks :/
