I have a friend whose child was born at 32 weeks and yes, she was a bit behind (I think she spent 2-3 weeks in the NICU at birth) but it is barely noticeable now that she is about 2 years old. Good luck!
I hope you can keep lil one in there for a few more weeks. If not he will be just fine so dont worry. My youngest was born at 33w5d and spent 31 days in level 2 NICU. He did not have any surgery or blood transfusions. He did develop acid reflux and had feeding issues. At birth he was 5lb 9oz and 19in. Do you have any idea on how big baby is right now?
last week he was 3lb 3oz. and tommorows u/s they aren't going to check weight but next week they are going too.. Is that a good week for 31wks??
In my opinion yes it is a good weight. At my last ultrasound i was 31 weeks to the day and she measured 3lb 12oz. The tech said she was a little on the heavy side for 31 weeks as well. You could always ask about his weight tomorrow when you go.
A friend of mine had her boy at 33 weeks and he was in NICU for about 5 weeks. I can't remember how big he was but he is doing great now. Not sure of any developmental issues. Praying your baby stays in for a few more weeks for you! Good luck
Hey, my brother and his wife's twins where 31 weeks. they weighed 900gs and 850gms. They spent some time in hospital but came out when they reached 2kgs. they are now 7 years old, not behind in any way and are as clever if not more clever than the rest of the kids at their age. best of luck and know that it will be fine.
I had both mmy boys at 32 weeks as long as up have taken care up will be fine
My eldest daughter was born at 32 weeks and weighed 2lb 10oz, she spent 4 weeks in NICU, she was breathing on her own and just needed help feeding and she couldnt hold her temperature so spent 2 weeks in a incubator, she will be 14 next month and you wouldnt even know she was early and so tiny. Fingers crossed for you xx
Measurements can be off by a pound either way - even in early pregnancy. Each person measures differently. They told me my daughter would be right at 8 pounds and they were very sure about that. 10 hours later she was born at 9 pounds 8 ounces!
At this point it is less about the weight and more about their maturing lungs. The longer you can keep them in, the better. However, I wouldn't worry too much about a baby born right now. Medicine has made so many strides in the last few decades that babies born at 24 weeks have a decent chance of survival. Your little one should be just fine...even with a few days or weeks in the NICU. Good luck!
eery week will count.... my baby measured 3lbs 8 oz at 31 weeks and was told it was a good weight... your baby willl be in the nicu but the steriods will go along way..
a friend had her baby at 30 weeks without steriods and though the nicu stay was long, she did good....
they stay any deelopmental delays usually are caught up by3
My cousins babu was born at 27 weeks. She spent 10 weeks on the nicu and did great. Today she is almost 6 yrs old and I would never know good luck with your baby
last u/s 32wks 4 days he is weighing 4lbs 4oz
That's a great weight for 32 weeks! My friends daughter was born at 34 weeks and she weighed 4lbs 15oz. Keep us posted!
when I had a scan last week at31w they said he weighed 3lb 14oz is this good I'm now 32w today
I go in next monday to get another u/s to measure his size and my cervix this week my cervix grew to 2.5cm so maybe he will stay put for a few more weeks hoping to get to 35-36wks.
that sounds like a good weight to me you gotta think thats only a few ozs under mind and the doctor told me mine was good (expecally having two rounds of steriods)
