Depo-provera and pregnancy

I have been on Depo-provera for nearly two months now, and have been on several other birth controls to try and regulate my period.  None of the pills ever worked, I continued to bleed irregularly with heavy blood flow, and periods lasting up to 8 weeks.  My doctor and I tried LUPRON to stop my periods, and it worked well for about six months.  Due to insurance refusing to pay, I switched to Depo-Provera.  I started bleeding two weeks ago, with all the sypmtoms of a regular period.  Cramping, heartburn, mood swings, sleeplessness, sweating.
Is it possible since birthcontrol never regulated my period that Depo is not working also.  Is it a possibility that I could still become pregnant on Depo if I am bleeding?
I recently became sexually active for my first time 4 moths ago, so I never used birth control for the purpose of preventing pregnancy.  Now I'm concerned that it is not going to work to prevent pregnancy if it has never worked to control my irregular periods.  HELP!

My g/f is 24 and 11 weeks pregnant we just found out I have a question about depo-provera she took the shoot 10 weeks ago.........She was not getting her period for a month straight we took test after test and negative we also took blood test and results came back negative so she took the depo. She has severe back problems due to previous pregnancy and was also taking Neurontin what effects can the 2 drugs have on our baby???? Please help to ease our minds!!

I knew a young girl who took Depo shots her entire pregnancy because she did not realize she was pregnant until she was in labor. Yes, that DOES happen! Her baby was so adorable and tiny!!! Anyway, that's beside the point...

My experience in researching and asking questions about birth control is that they mess you up more than they help, especially in the long run. While a handful of women become pregnant while on BC or right after getting off of BC, many more women have fertility issues later after coming off BC.

Sounds like BC just isn't going to work for you! And it seems as though it is making you miserable. There are other forms of BC that won't harm you.

No birth control is 100%. I got pregnant, faithfully using the pill.
