Depression during pregnancy

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing some mild depression during their pregnancy? I haven't wanted to admit it because I'm having a 100% perfect pregnancy with no complications so I shouldn't have anything to complain about, but for some reason randomly throughout the day or week I'll often get periods of depression, hopelessness, lack of confidence etc, or even just feel like crying without knowing why and I'm not sure what to do to prevent it.
Their is a fair bit of stress I guess, I'm going to be a single mom, and the dad is living two provinces away and isn't really doing anything to help, except cause custody and divorce issue worries. I do have my parents help and support, but it's not the same....plus I now have my own house but it has a ton of reno's before it's liveable and I don't know if it will be done before baby is due....
Don't get me wrong I really love my baby, I love reading to her and singing to her, she's already my world. But I'm only 20 and when I think about how life was before, and how everything is now it's just....overwhelming the changes.
Is it normal to be feeling like this though? What can I do to help besides just living a day at a time?

You need to speak with your doctor.  I suffer from depression and have gone off my meds for this pregnancy but it's really taking it's toll.  I've managed to keep it under control for the most part but I have days where it just takes over.  Days where I feel the world is caving in around me and everything is falling apart and the world is against me. Then I have days of nothing but sheer anger over something stupid or absolutely nothing.

In a situation such as yours it's not uncommon to suffer from degree of depression. Even if meds are a course you want to go with while you are pregnant your doc can perhaps recommend a good counselor and some other ideas to help you. One thing that REALLY helps is getting out in the sun.  Believe it or not sunlight can make a big improvement in your mood when you are feeling like that.  Good luck and feel free to pm me if you need to talk or have questions.

once we get a BFP our lives have been changed forever...

Thanks! I'll probably bring it up with my midwife, so if anything she'll simply be aware of it in case of postpartum depression. But after pregnancy is actually the part I'm looking forward too right now, but I guess I'll never know what hormones might throw at me.
And the sun does help but its been raining for like two weeks straight so that really doesn't help!! Lol.
Thanks guys :)

I think that although it could be something worth looking into, I have found that I have days where I just want to cry as well. Your hormones are probably in high gear right now and causing a lot of what your feeling. I too get really stressed out a lot about the thought of will everything be ready for baby and such, I also find that for me crying actually helps because then I get out what I am feeling and once I have done that I feel better. It is going to be an emotional roller coaster and all you can do is hang on for the ride. We are all here for you if you ever just need to talk and get these feelings out!
