Freaking out! Need some reassurance!!

Eeek!! I haven't had an ounce of caffeine since 2 months before we even started ttc (I am now 23 weeks.) Yesterday I drank half of one of those all-natural juice drinks, then the other half this morning, and realized afterwards that it contains guarana extract (!!!), which I just Googled and found out it has like 3 times the caffeine of coffee!! UGH! I feel horrible, I feel like I've done something damaging to our baby!? No wonder he was kicking like crazy after I drank it - Omg, I'm freaking out. I know it's probably the irrational preggo hormones making me paranoid but I just need some reassurance please!!!! Will this have a detrimental effect on our little boy?? Has anyone drank caffeine during pregnancy and their baby turned out fine? I'm definitely going to read labels more carefully from now on.... :(

Drinking caffiene in moderations is okay for the baby, My doc told me to not consume more than 300mg of caffiene a day as going over can cause harmful effects. I stay with my 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and water the rest of the day with 1 or 2 coka colas at night after dinner, my total mg's I intake are around 90mg a day. I drink that just to keep my migraines at bay.

don't worry the bay is fine... kicking in fact is a good sign,lol... I have been drinking tea everyday, from where I come from pregnant women do not stop drinking caffine. My mum loughs at me when I say I want my tea light! specially that you are 23 weeks which there is a very low risk of miscarriage at this stage etc. So RELAX......  Nothing will happen..

I'm sure everything will be fine lol you sound like me I wouldn't touch any caffeine what so ever. I'd like to thank you about the info on guarana extract having caffeine I didn't know that I don't even know what that is but I'll look it up now.

You saved me from drinking anything with guarana extract .

So many peolpe drink caffeine while pregnant would I don't think is right at all but their babies turn out just fine.

HI THERE!!  everything will be fine. i drink one cup of coffee almost every morning, and my doc said that was ok... and that the baby is fine. i did the same thing when i was prego with my daughter.  its all about moderation. you can have caffeine.. just limit the amount that you have!

Where I come from people drink so much coffee that some parents even give their todlers coffee with milk and sugar.  I'm not saying its right, BUT I haven't seen any complications due to coffee.  The problem with caffeine which is why its not recommended is because it can increase the chance of a miscarriage in early pregnancy if consumed in high quantities.  Besides that they haven't found many other side effects.  So don't worry.
Usually women stop drinking coffee in pregnancy because the smell makes them ill.

I can't comment on caffeine b/c i've never been pregnant but i'm hoping to reassure you by telling you this: women who have babies without knowing their even pregnant (rare but it happens) go on to have healthy babies. Just think of all the things they ingest!
I know a woman who did acid until her 3rd month of pregnancy b/c she didn't know (this was back in the early 90's) and her daughter is perfectly healthy. (amazing, isn't it?)
There are women who never give up caffeeine and drink it throughout their entire pregnancy and they have healthy children.

You're doing SO much it sounds like, to care for your baby, i'm sure that allt he positives totally outweigh one negative. If you're really worried and will continue to be worried, perhaps seeing the doc is best. But personally, regardless of all the scary stories out there, I'm sure everything is perfectly normal. :)

don't worry it's ok long as you don't do it every day.....so now you know so just breath is will be ok I sometimes sneak in a Mt dew....so it's ok....but I don't do it often....heck the dr's even tell you to drink caffiene some times say if you are worried about your baby not moving enough they tell you drink a soda....so it's ok.....and I even drink tea once in a while I just make sure not to over do it and my babies are fine.
