How long after you lost your plug did you go into labor?

I lost my plug a few hours ago but I have had strong contractions since last night (some of which woke me up). Can you go into labor before loosing plug? Or how long after do you typically begin labor? Im 35w2d & ready to see my lil guy but scared im gonna have him too soon. Or that ill have to have an emergency c-section with him also.

You can loose your plug weeks, days, even hours before REAL labor. With both of my kids I never lost it until actual labor came when I was 40 weeks. But your a lil too early to be in labor. Good luck

I lost mine a week ago im 38w strong contractions but no signs of active labor :( just 3cm dilated and still have my water intact, i went to my ob and he said that u can lose the plug and labor could start from hours after losing it or to weeks after losing it so keeping an eye on self is the only option for now cuz it can be different for each woman

I would say to go in if you are still having contractions.  It is too early for baby.  With my first I lost it couple days before, this one I have lost it twice and nothing.  The contractions would be enough to make me go.

I had my show on Wednesday and I am still waiting for strong contractions to start. I am 39 wks and with my boys I never noticeably lost it.
I agree though you should go get looked at it is still a little early for baby.
Good Luck :-)

I lost mine in the middle of labor with both babies, but some women lose it several days before labor starts.
