Plan B/Morning after Pill

Ok i need some advice?  I took plan B 48 hours after having sex.  Never got any bleeding or anything from it.  But a week later i had sex again, did not take the morning after pill.  Could i be pregnant from this time.  Or does it take a while for your cycle to get back on track after taking the morning after pill.

Oh and...Plan B can throw off your cycle, (in my case it didnt) I always have an irregular cycle and after the pill it came the day after I would be due if I had a regular cyle. Everyones different, Just wait it out and don't do anything more irresponsible.

Ok, well I will tell you I took plan B for the first time last month and got my Period afterwards, got busy again with my bf. and I just found out Im pregnant, I can't be sure it has something to do with plan b but we have been using the same method for 7 years with no pregnancy. First time I took it too.Not to say our method worked but I have a feeling plan B may have a little something to do with it.
And yeah I'd say its guy#2 but who knows.  Get a paternity test.

Wish I hadn't ---I took Plan B 24 hrs. after sex.  I had sex on the last day that I was suppose to be "most fertile".  My husband and I talked about having a third child, but I freaked because of the way the economy is now.  After I took it, I wish that I had not.  I have taken Plan B in the past years ago, it worked for the most part, but once it did not (2nd child).  I really wish I hadn't taken it now.  Wash wondering if anyone knew of hope of faliure (sounds odd) or a way to reverse it or a do you think I could still get pregnant if I try again right away in this cycle.  It has been 12 hours since I took the pill.

I somehow missed that. Thanks Joy. I must have read this one too fast..

A paternity test is the only sure way to find out since you had multiple partners in such close proximity.

Laura, she is pregnant.

Sarah, conception dates and due dates are all estimated based on your unborn baby's growth. We can guess and speculate all we want but the only surefire way to know whose baby it is would be to have a DNA test. See if one of the guys is willing to step up and do the test and then you'll know for sure!

Ummmm..Did you take a pregnancy test?

I still think you should have been on some form of birth control AND been using protection (hello..STD's!!!)  w. mulitiple partners and all..

Yeah i thought about that too.  But if i was already pregnant it would be conceived on the 7 or 8th of June, since i took the morning after pill then.  I dont think the sperm could last until the 12th?  That is why i am at a lost?

I am kind of in the same position and I called and talked to a couple of people ,Pharmacists and doctors and they advised me that Plan B is 90% effective and if you are testing positive that its a possibility that I  may have already been pregnant. I took plan b before and I never had this happen so it is possible that guy#1 is the one because you didn't even have sex on June 12th.  Because the only way that I have known plan b not to work is if you are already pregnant. Also it still take a couple of days for a egg to implant, and the only way Plan B wont work if the egg is already implanted. I hope this helps.

ooops forgot to add this, in a long term relationship or married, especially if you are not wanting to be pregnant!  Use a condom and birth control!

wow weird your due on my birthday.  But I agree with these guys, sounds like guy number 2, but paternity test it the way to go!  You can get it done while pregnant too!

In the future, I wouldn't have unprotected sex unless your in a long term relationship!

Like peek said you're going to have to do a paternity test since the dates are so close. Plan B isn't 100% effective its only like 80% effective and I took it withing 24 hours of unprotected sex and still got pregnant.

You will need a paternity test to be sure.  There is nothing else to do about it...it is what it is.
Plan B is fairly effective, but certainly not 100%.  More likely than not it is guy #2---but you can't be sure.  Not at all sure.

It was with two different guys that is why i am asking?  I had sex with one on June 6th took plan b 48 hours later.  then on June 13th i had sex again.  I later found out i was pregnant.  My due Date is March 5th, 2009.  Is there a possiblity that plan B did not work or is probably the guy on June 13th?  I have irregular periods and by the ovulation calendar is said i would ovulate somewhere between the 10th and 16th.  They are saying my conception date is June 12th.  What does anybody think?

You should be making an effort to keep yourself from getting pregnant if you do not wish to be.  I can tell you that my friend gave birth to a son the same day my daughter was born, and she had taken the plan b pill within 24 hours of having unprotected sex, so it's not something to rely on as a form of birth control.  Her son did not suffer any ill effects from the hormones in the pill.

Hi,

Plan B should have worked for the first time, even if you didn't experience any bleeding.. Many women do not have any side effects from Plan B.

Plan B only works for if taken as directed w/in 72 hours of the unprotected sex.. If you had unprotected sex AGAIN a week later, and did not use any contraceptive (even if it was an emergency contraceptive such as Plan B) you CAN be pregnant.

Why are you continually having unprotected sex if you do not wish to get pregnant? My advice would be to wait and see if your period is late, if so, test.. Hopefully (since it seems you do not wish to be) you aren't pregnant, but do yourself a favor and stop having unprotected sex if you do not wish to get pregnant.. Sorry to sound harsh, but I am just honest! =)

it depends on when in your cycle this sex happened.  You may want to consider just getting on the regular pill so you wont have to question it.
