At 14 weeks they told me it was a boy. Guess what I'm having? A girl ;)
Hi all
I don't know if this is relevant and it's a little sad but when I miscarried my son at 14 weeks he stopped growing between 10 and 11 (I think it was closer to 11) we saw his penis so we could tell he was a boy. I know that you can see there sex at that gestation so I am guessing a good sonographer could possibly tell.
I hope that helps. But I would take it with a grain of salt, I have heard of sonographers being wrong even at 20 weeks lol. Good luck
Actually, a good sonographer, and if the baby is positioned right, can determine gender at 13 weeks. I found out at 13 1/2 weeks I was having a boy. When I was 19 weeks, it was confirmed to be a boy. Remember, boys are much easier to see than a girl is as they have a penis, girls don't. It's easier to see that between a babys legs.
Here is a great link that shows you real life pictures of a fetus' genitalia during development. http://www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html

I first saw my baby's little penis nice and clear at 15w4d :) I think 15w is the earliest you can know for sure.
Baby genitalia doesn't even start to grow until 11 weeks so it is really unlikely for them to be able to tell. Honestly at this point if they guess and get it right its really just a lucky guess. I get super clear ultrasounds at a place that specializes in them and they told me at 13 1/2 weeks that they were 80% positive it was a boy and then at 18 weeks low and behold it is really a girl and after about 6 more ultrasounds it is still a girl.
It's just a guess. There's no way to know for sure at 13-14 weeks. You would have a more accurate guess after 18-19 weeks.
I think that at 13-14 weeks its just a rough guess. From what others have posted idt u can really know until bout 20 weeks. But your not the first to hear boy early and still have them say a boy at 20 weeks. I guess I'd say just don't be to "set" on boy at that stage baby pry isn't completely developed. Good luck! Hope he stays a he!
