They said that one of them had a very low heartbeat and the other one couldnt be detected atal and i need to go back in 9 days to have another us. I had spotting at the weekend, hence having the 2nd scan today.

The nurse advised me that there is a vey high chance that i will ms. Has anyone else been in the same situation and had a positive outcome???

At 6 weeks pregnant, the heartrate is always slower.  Did they tell you what the heartrate is?  If the baby had true bradycardia, then the miscarriage rate is extremely high.

No the spotting and cramps stopped at the weekend. Have a slight stomach ache and sometimes get shooting pains in the bottom of my back or under my rib cage.

some health food stores sell progesterone cream. but you can only use the natural kind that is for luteal phase defects. Are you still spotting?

its a hormone that your body produces when you become pregnant and is very important to hold a pregnancy. some women do not produce enough, which can lead to miscarriage. signs of this are spotting and a slow heartrate. this doesnt mean this is your problem, but it can be and is VERy common. i'm sure that if doctors would test for the routinely, they would be a lot less miscarriages. sometimes fetuses just arent viable. i was on prometrium orally for the 1st trimester. the placenta usually takes over after 12 weeks. if you do a search on low progesterone during pregnancy you'll find a TON of information.

I would just ask them to prescribe you progesterone because if that is the problem (may not be) you can start now instead of waiting on test results. After 2 miscarriages, my doctor didnt offer to me either. I had to ask for it.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I wish you the best. Some pregnancies do go to full term against all odds, so stay positive and pray that you will hear a strong HB at your next visit.
Best of luck to you!

Thank you.......Its not been an easy ride so far hence the worrying, first of all ive been on the pill for 12yrs so was shocked when i found out and went to a&e 4 weeks ago with severe stomach cramps found out i was pregnant......The cramping finally stopped last week then i started bleeding with no cramps ! And now they have all stopped...so a bumpy ride so far hence 2 scans already in 4 weeks. The first one didnt detect 2 babies though!

The heartbeat was there in one just very faint and you could only see it if i held my breath! The midwife basically told me there was a 5% the pregnance would go full term :-(

At 6 weeks it can be hard to see fetal heart sometime, especially since there are two.  All you can do is wait for the next scan and pray for more information.  The risk of miscarriage is high through these early weeks, but there is nothing you can do if it is going to happen and there is nothing that you did that causes it.
Stay positive.  It's hard not knowing and waiting.
Wishing you all the best

Just advice~~~~ no one can tell you oh youll carry to term. But i can tell you that if you stress about it. you CAN miscarry. Thats what stress can do to you. All i can say is wait it out. in a few backs go to have a scan, maybe everything will just be fine!!
