Do not believe everything your doctors tell you. Educate yourselves on everything including vaccines. It's quite alarming. Do the research for your baby as it's them your hurting otherwise.
Oh and my supervisor at work told me she took vicoden through out her whole pregnancy and her son is fine.
Before I found out I was pregnant I was taking Oxycodone 5/325 4 times a day plus other meds for fibromyalgia. When I found out I was pregnant I quit cold turkey. When I saw my doctor I told her I was going through withdraws. She put me back on Oxycodone 5/325 2 times a day she said the benefits outweigh the risk and going through withdraws are very bad I could of had a miscarriage. She said its up to me when I'm about to have the baby I can ween down or there are medications I can take to help with withdraws if I quit. If I continue to take the meds and the baby is having withdraws she said they can deal with it. But since I'm on such a low dose she didn't think there would be a big problem.
Yea my dr told me not to take it everyday because baby will depend on it afterwards.
I am also going through this. I am 35 w 4 days and have been on vicaden prescribed by my ob and urologist siince 10 weeks. I'm always asking him are you sure its okay? And they always tell me if he is born withdrawing it will be only slight and they can handle it. I take two at the most a day. I have passed four kidney stones since 10 wks and currently have one or more in my kidney and one blocking urine flow to my kidney which is causing swelling and horrible pain that has put me into pre term labor twice. My Dr said that it is much safer for baby to be exposed to vicaden than to have the stress of pain on the baby or even have a baby wag too early. I am constantly worried and feeling guilty so I know how you feel!
I'm a nursing student and I don't know the back story on a lot of the babies mothers I see in the NICU (where I'm at in my clinicals) and I see baby's with withdrawls everyday and it breaks my heart, they have the most distinctive cry. Not a normal cry because they want food or they need changed but one where they are crying out for something and they can't have it. But I also see babies born addicted to heroin, crack, and methamphetamine a. It's awful and I hope your baby isn't born having withdrawls. No mother should have to listen to their baby cry the way I hear babies cry when they are going through withdrawls. Especially if you are prescribed the medicine that would be awful. Best of luck to you.
My sister to vicodons all ger pregnancie due to lupus and other stuff and her baby came out clean and ok with no withdrawls.
My grandma took methadone while pregnant and they told her it was fine that my mom would just be watched and my mom was born healthy 8 lbs and they just kept her for like a week watching to make sure she was okay and she was fine. And that was in the 70s im sure now they definitely will just watch the baby fine
I was taking hydros for a pulled tooth and he said he didn't want me to take a lot because after the baby is born she or he could have withdrawls from it, and they classify it as a C because they don't want pregnant women to use it to much while pregnant because the baby can have withdrawls after birth and have sidaffects too from it and if that happens baby would possibly have to stay in the hospital
