When I took mine they told me not to eat and I drank the drink at the office and waited an hour.
Ya I finished my drink at 7:59 saw the ob at 8:59 went to the lab did my test, came home took a nap, woke up, ate some food, and have stayed in bed today. I'm way more tired then usual! I was under the impression the test would take a while, it was the same thing they did when they checked my hormone levels for my first Dr. Visit...now I just get to wait up to 2 weeks to find out if I passed or not.
During my first gct i didnt knw tht i can eat n go n trust me i was so restless after d glucose thy gave me to drink
Better eat eatly morning give a gap of an hour n drink n go
Let's hope I passed! I didn't eat this morning, that drink gave me diarrhea though :\
Omg.. I totally understand you. I have the biggest sweet tooth ever and being pregnant doesnt make it any better!! I was nervous about my Gt and I was actually asked to fast so my last meal was the night before and my appointment was at 10am the next day and I passed!! :D
I love sugar too and crave it all the time but I took it yesterday and passed. My appt was at 430 and ate how I normally would all day, also I phyched myself out about the taste of the juice but it wasn't even bad lol.
You only have to fast for the 3 hour test because they need a baseline sugar. With the 1 hr you do not need to fast. A high protein breakfast would be your safest beat however complex carbs such as fruit and whole grains are said to be okay too just steer clear of simple sugars (junk food) beforehand.
I had to fast starting at midnight b4, because they wanted me to be completely empty whn I drunk the juice, if u have food or other drink in your system when you take the test it could really throw it off
I had to fast for my 1 hour test..
i failed by 8 points.
I fasted for my 3 hour test and passed. It's not so bad. My whole pregnancy I ate nothing but sweets.
Even if they told me i didn't have to fast, I still would have.
The 1 hr you can eat I suggest protein. The 3 hr is fasting to what they tell you.
