Give her a spoon full of hubby before bed it is natural and help coat her throat which reduces coughing.

I would ask your Dr if they can give you anything for her coughing. My Dr will at least tell us how much of some otc to give my kids. Usually its Benadryl and only at night since it makes them drowsy. Also nighttime is prime for viruses or whatever to make anyone feel worse. Ive yet to understand why but yeah, being sick at night is the worst. Also it could be drainage irritating the back of her throat hence the coughing. Its a pity she moves around too much to be propped up on pillows. That would be of some help.

How long do you usually sit in there? I just tried it with my daughter and she just wanted to fight me because I wouldn't let her get in the water. She is a little fish just like her momma.

Bath tub/shower steaming helps a LOT. You can get a vapor bath shampoo, too. I put that in REALLY hot water, close the door and steam up the bathroom before bedtime, seems to help!

Thank you. Hopefully she gets better soon. Don't want her to be sick when her brother arrives. Only have roughly 35 days.

Ya I have not found the humidifiers to work well either. I've tried 2 different ones. I will definitely try sitting in the bathroom with the hot water running tonight.

I think before bed time helps more.. Sitting in the bathroom with the shower running always worked better for me than the humidifier thing.. good luck, hope your little one is feeling better soon..

I try to prop her up but she moves so much she don't stay on the pillows. Tried propping her mattress too and she would not sleep but a half hour there. I have been using the vapor rub I didn't last night cause doctor said it wont help but I believe it has been.

Have you tried sitting in the steam with her? It always helps my daughter and settles her cough when she's sick..

My son when sick it's ALWAYS worse at night. I propped him up on a few pillows so it's not as bad, and lots of vicks vabor rub, that really helps him! I keep drinks in his room so if he coughs he can get a drink, and a humidifier if you have one. I hope she feels better!

I took her in yesterday morning to the doctor. She seems to only cough a few times during the day. But when night time comes and I put her to sleep she just has horrible cough. It gets horrible and she cries so much so I know its hurting her plus it gags her. Just crazy never seen her have a cough before like that.

How long since you've been to the doctor? If it's getting worse I'd take her back, my niece just got sent home for a cough from her ped. (she's almost 2) and she got worse over a few days and ended up having bronchitis, so if you feel like she's getting worse I'd get her checked again! Sick kids are the worst! :(

Thank you for your support. Would be nice if she would lay in the bed with me like she has been the last few nights being almost 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd makes me more exhausted.
