Yes but three unemployment takes about a month to kick in. That's the bad part
Yes, talk to HR and a lawyer. Letting you go because of pregnancy is illegal, it's a form of discrimination. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with this :( but you'll be able to get unemployment in the meantime.
Thanks i will call hr on Monday. My mom even toss me i need to go to the labor board and talk to a lawyer about it all.
They can get in alot of trouble
How long have you worked with that company? Even if it is a right to fire state I would still contact HR because there are some fine lines they don't want to cross with pregnancy especially since you had a doctors note. As for unemployment you should definitely qualify because they let you go, I have been in mgmt for 8 yrs and our employees always got unemployment when we let them go, but I'm in California. Contact there HR or even an attorney because I know in California yoy would have a huge lawsuit!!!
Well since they let you go you can get unemployment. It's a pain in the *** to get it all together but unless you quit they have to pay it :) btw that is bs that they did that I'm sorry... At least you can relax and focus on the baby because unemployment lasts for at least a year so if you wanna spend the first year with the baby your good to go!
Call HR. I stay in Ga which has the same laws, but that does not negate them from a law suit. I called my HR office when my job was acting funny about my light duty restrictions and they took care of it that day because that is almost blatant discrimination.
But you had a medical reason!?!
