premature babies

5 yrs ago i had a lil girl  she was 6 weeks early and weighed 4 lbs 14 oz. im now pregnant again..as it gets closer to the 34th week im increasingly nervous that im going to have him early. ive asked my dr but he said theres not much to worry about. how likely is it that this baby would be early too? i heard theres an increase in the likeliness because i had a premature baby before

I was told often times it is a fluke to have a preemie unless they can determine a cause it is unlikely to happen again. I gave birth to my daughter 2 weeks ago at 35 weeks 1 day gestation. She has no effects other than acid reflux. She spent 1 extra day in the hospital and has been home and doing great since. Even if born now there are little complications your child would face as they are not truly premature more just a bit early since they are just shy of full term. Try to relax and enjoy the remaining time of your pregnancy

Did they give you a cause for your first babies early arrival? Did you have a shortened cervix etc? I am sure that they are looking out for the things that they need too and following closely. I do know many people that had a premature birth and went on to go overdue!! Good Luck
