random diarrhea????

Soo im 4 days from my due date.....I havent eaten any foods that could cause an upset stomach and I didnt drink anything besides iced tea and water. I was sitting on the couch and randomly had the urge to run to the bathroom and I had diarrhea.....is that a sign of labor?

I found this on a parent website... though it may not be true for everyone this is something that can be part of labor :) ....................... "During the early part of labor, your body begins to release prostaglandins, a group of hormone like substances that cause the uterus to contract and help soften and dilate the cervix. But prostaglandins can also hyperstimulate the bowels, causing frequent stools or even diarrhea, " Dr. Grabowski says.

I read up on it and so far the most info that I got is when your bowels get irritated it causes the uterus to contract. So having diarrhea actually can cause labor!

ive had diarrhea for the past 4 days. im due in 10 days. im 1cm dilated and have had no contractions or any sign of labor yet. so who actually knows if its a sign of labor because for me its not. youd think after having it for 4 days I would go into labor but nothing yet. good luck though!

my lil girl seems to not want to come out at all.. no dilating , no effacing for me.. :/ i want her here by the 6th but docs says that i may go over :/ hoping like crazy this is a sign for labor.

Yupp! Im due on the 6th as well. Last saturday I went to the hospital with contractions they monitored me for 2 hours and said that they were still irregular and I was only 1cm dilated so im hoping that this is a sign! I realllyyyyy dont wanna go over my due date but little misssy must be pretty comfy in there

same here!!!!! ive had it for the past two days and im getting really bad gas pains, tmi sorry. also my stomach has been a hard ball for the past two days as well.. i hope labor is near im due the 6th

Sometimes labour comes with no signs at all I know quite a few girls who's just been sat doing nothing and next minute she's having strong contractions etc not generally always the case but there are no set labour signs because everyone is different although I have heard that diarrhoea is quite common before giving birth so it sounds like it could be on its way :) good luck

Hopefully it's true! Im starting to get nervous that she wont come and I'll need to be induced! I've had absolutely no signs of labor

I'm a ftm but I heard that diarrhea is a sign of labor. Its a way of your body cleaning its self.
