yea, i'm pretty sure i haven't lost it yet... only b/c i remember what it looked like w/ the others. but its weird how somedays i will have some discharge, but then other days i won't have any at all! there have been a couple times when i thought what i saw was kinda a lot but it was just normal color and not blood tinged at all (even though i know it doesn't have to be i guess).
also, since i've only dilated all the way to 10 cm once... does that make a difference of how labor would go if i were to actually start? after the first one being an emergency c-section, the other 2 were scheduled so i've never fully dilated since then. and i've always made it to 39 wks as scheduled w/ no preterm labor or contractions or anything... my sister says i'm just made for pregnancy!!!!!!!!! :)
Yeah lived here for about 10 years now...Thanks for the info...I'm only at 31 weeks but I think I'm going to go early...Just feel like it...And I don't recall losing my plug with my other two...I haven't had any access discharge since my first trimester so maybe I will notice if it happens...
I would think so, but I am not sure. But are you 100% sure you didn't loose it. Sometimes I do know of people who have lost it and not knew it. Good Luck
so can i use the fact that i have not lost my mucus plug yet as a sign that i am not effacing or dilating yet, too???
i found this at a pregnancy site...
"A mucus plug may be clear, slightly pink or blood tinged in color. It may be stringy mucus or sticky discharge. Some women may not even notice the loss of their mucus plug because there is already an increase in vaginal discharge during pregnancy."
hope this helps you to know what to look for! :)
(p.s. i saw you live in tampa... so does my sister!)
I don't remember losing mine with my first two...Must have happened during labor...I was induced with both...Maybe asking for tmi but what does it look like when you lose your plug? How do you know that that is what it is?
I lost my sons at 35 weeks and he was born at 37 weeks and my daughters came at 34 weeks and I went into active labor then, they stop it with brethene and she was born at 37 weeks and 5 days. But each woman is different and the lil ones (as you know) have their own minds. Good Luck with the next two weeks! HTH Hugs :o)
being a 4th time mom you most likely WON'T lose it until you are in labor. I didn't go in to labor with my first...had an emergency c-section...
with my second I lost my plug in the beginning stages of labor...
with my next TWO i never SAW my plug so I assume I lost it a) when my water broke or b) sometime after I went into active labor.
Even so, losing your plug is NOT a good sign of impending labor. Some women lose their plug 6 weeks or so before labor sets in.
thanks guys! i can't remember when i lost it w/ my girls' pregnancies and i'll be 37 weeks tomorrow. i guess i just thought i would've lost it by now! but oh well... like i said, i guess its best for it to be uneventful rather than sneak up on me, right? i'd probably freak if i went into labor anyways (fear of hemoraging) and we live a good 45 mins from the hospital i need to deliver at (well probably 20 mins if dh drives!!!).
keri3- i ohpe something happens for you soon!!! maybe this weekend will be your time!!! :)
I didn't lose mine until the morning I went into labour with my first pregnancy. That was how I knew I was in labour and it wasn't false or braxton hicks.
i still haven't lost anything. this is my 4th. i'll be 38 weeks on saturday. no signs of upcoming labor nothing. i have another doc visit tommorow, so hopefully things change.
I started losing mine at 36 weeks. I was losing it little by little and I didn't end up going into labor until I was 38 weeks. 2 more weeks? Yay! You are almost there! =)
Hey I began loosing my mucos plug at 35 weeks and am still loosing pieces of it so I think it just depends..... I am only 1 cm dialiated so I think I am finally dialiating more and that is why I am loosing it.....
