Hi ladies are any of you having low iron during your pregnancy? My doctor told me I have low iron and I know how important it is not only for myself but for my baby also.
Do you guys know of any kind of foods that are rich in iron?

My iron is so low I have to take three iron pills a day, normally you only take one. Im anemic so it can get bad if I don't have it. I get clammy and get sick. Hate it

Green leafy veggies and red meat are great for iron, just don't eat liver! Too much vitamin A is toxic to both you and baby. Also never take ironsupplements within a couple hours of milk or a lot of dairy, calcium in dairy inhibits iron absorption.

I went to the doctor yesterday and he said "he thinks" I could be anemic and wants me to take iron pills. I only did a urine sample and they never drew blood. I want them to be 100% sure I have it before I start taking iron pills. So maybe I will try eating the food(s) that were suggested and will Google others high in iron. Thank you very much and good luck ladies!

Thanks Ladies for all your input. I started taking Iron pills 27mg aside from trying to incorporate more iron-riched foods in my diet. Lets hope it brings it up enough so I can stop feeling dizzy, tired, and can breathe better!

Yes, I take prenatal pills w/o iron and vitron C. Its an iron suppliment with vitamin c. Vitamin c helps you absorb more iron.

I was prescribed iron pills and I eat beef liver. I don't eat it all of the time because my baby book said to limit liver intake. I agree with the other ladies on what to eat.

How far along are you? At 28 weeks it is normal to have a physiological anemia when they do your cbc.

Cream of wheat has 50% of your daily value of iron... spinach, kale,  beef, etc...

Green leafy veggies have iron. Like spinach. Dried fruits like raisins or prunes. A lot of cereals are fortified with iron. Check labels. I have low iron normal so I take just the over the counter pill and it brought my iron enough.

Don't eat liver! It is extremely high in iron but it's also extremely high in vitamin A which can cause birth defects. My doctor prescribed me iron pills but they made me sick so she told me to just be sure I ate some red meat every day and when snacking snack on things like raisins and dates. She also said to look at protein bars bc most of them are a good iron supply.

I had low iron with both previous pregnancies and was just told to take iron pills which you can get in vitamin section but if you take them, take them with orange juice if not they make you really nauseated.
