Infected tooth

Hi everyone I am 18 weeks pregnant.  Ever since I have gotten pregnant my teeth have been getting really bad.  I woke up this morning with my face swelled up an my tooth hurting.  Can an infection in like this hurt the baby?  I'm on antibiotics but it still scares me.

Pregnant women can be prone to dental issues like bleeding gums and even infections. Antibiotics are a good start to clearing up the infection. Make sure your OB-GYN is aware that you have the infection and treatment, in case they want to follow you more closely until your treatment is finished. If you have been on treatment for a few days, the infection should start to improve. If your symptoms are worsening, you should let both your dentist and OB-GYN know. Considering and numbness and swelling worsening, you should really call both of them today.
Good luck and hope you feel better.

Just keep taking those antibiotics and drink water and get plenty of rest. Pregnant women's immune systems are suppressed so we are more prone to infections and we take longer to heal than we normally would. Baby yourself for a little bit and take it easy. You should be fine as long as you stay hydrated and don't spike a high fever. Get feeling better!

Long as your treating it, it should be fine. Just follow advice from your dentist or doctor. Don't take old antibiotics. Hope you feel better
