? about miscarriages...

Never had one before but been having pretty bad cramps in lower abdomen that go round to my back off and on all day. I'm 14+5 and had a pretty upset stomach Thursday and Friday, lost a lot of fluid. Been drinking water and Gatorade (for low potassium they found at er when I went in for fluid), and other than the cramps I'm starting to feel better. The doc said the low potassium was bad for baby. Just wondering if the dehydration and hypokalemia is causing me to miscarry. I assume cramps come first, then bleeding? Or am I probably over reacting? How long after cramps did you start bleeding? Any input would be appreciated!!

Basically said what I was going to say. Around 20 weeks I was in a lot of pain. All around. My cousin is a delivery obRN (not sure how to list her credentials) and she has three kids. She said, "parts of your body are splitting and separating. It hurts a lot." Especially if it's your first (this is my first).
I hope you feel better soon. Id lie in a warm/hot bath with the lights off and itd help with my pain.

Like others stated, bleeding came with the miscarriage. If you're bleeding, I'd be concerned, but just cramping could be something else.

I am 19 weeks and been having period like cramps and some back pain as well. I went to my doctor and they told me my ligaments on the sides of my uterus are stretching and that is what causes that type of pain. It sounds like you are having the same issue. If you are worried, I would definitely call your doctor just to put your mind at ease. From what I have been told, miscarriage cramps are a lot worse than normal pregnancy cramping.

I miscarried at 6 weeks and I had period like pains before I even found out I was pregnant  if it wernt for missed period n test I probably wouldn't of known I was pregnant during the miscarriage tho all my pains were in my back.

hi, I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks, for me bleeding came first and really bad cramps came later. If your just cramping with no bleeding, than I think you may be okay.
