1 hour test

My Dr told me I could eat right before I drank the stuff so I thought I would be smart and eat 3 hrs before.  Than I made the mistake of Googling and there are so many different opinions on what to do.  So now I'm freaking out that I'm going to fail. It seems like I see people failing when they have fasted others pass after eating a ton of carbohydrates.  I just want this stupid test over.

You only fast if you do the 3 hr test. You will be fine. I however passed my first slightly... Did three hour and passed slightly. And was told to do another three hour to end up with Gestational diabetes.

I also ate about 3 hours before my 1 hour. I think I had cereal. Banana nut crunch..or was it a bagel n cream cheese? Can't remember...anyway, I was exhausted and just wanted to nap after the test, but I passed! Didn't even have to take the 3 hour one.

Havincinco I think its more about how the Dr view the test.  I was told some want to see how your body handles what you normally eat.  Who knows.

Tomorrow thanks I'm trying to relax since there's not much I can do at this point.  I guess worse case scenario I do the 3 hr test.

I wonder if they take into account whether youve had GD before. A few of my gfriends get it without fail everytime. I dont know if they fast or not. Ive never had it, so maybe not at risk?

It seems like from everything I read each Dr says something different.  I've had friends told to fast and others told not to.  I couldn't remember with my first but my bf thinks I had to fast.  I've switched Dr since than.

My test is at the end of the month and I asked when I left my last appt. They said not to worry about any fasting or anything. Im wondering if the tests are getting more sensitive to changes because I remember I DID have to fast with my first 2 pregnancies.

Just make sure what ever you do eat is light with almost no sugar. Or you can't go wrong with fasting.

I ate the morning of mine. I even drank orange juice. I passed mine. I wanted to pass out afterwards. But passed the test.
